I did a podcast with Will Knowland about all things education. We spoke about the launch of the Crown of Thorns Academies that I, along with my colleague and co-founder, Colin Faust, am starting up. They will be a network of All-Boys, Catholic elementary schools.
We talked about the nature of knowledge and how a school can use its institutional structures (schedule, curriculum, pedagogy) to impact the process of learning in students. We also spoke about the great potential an all-boys elementary school has in doing all of this in a way that optimizes boys’ learning. I’ll include some of the show notes down below.
We’re planning to announce our first Crown of Thorns Academy location in the coming weeks, when all details are formally finalized (lease agreements signed, etc.). It’s going to be in the Twin Cities (Minnesota). It will be the only All-Boys elementary school in the entire Midwest.
