The first AI safety initiative in Hong Kong, AI Safety Hong Kong, is proud to support the upcoming ML4Good bootcamp, an intensive, eight-day programme designed to advance your career in AI safety.
AI is going to transform every part of society. Getting it wrong could be catastrophic. Steering it toward a safer outcome will require people from every background.
ML4Good is an in-person bootcamp that brings together talented people committed to making an impact on AI safety. With a 98% participant recommendation rate, the programme has already run successful bootcamps across Europe, Africa, and the Americas .
Now it’s coming to Hong Kong, and it’s completely free.
All teaching, on-site accommodation, and meals are provided at no cost.
The bootcamp offers dual tracks to match your skills and career goals:
Technical Programme — For ML engineers, computer science graduates, and technical researchers.
The curriculum covers building transformers from scratch, LLM agents, interpretability techniques, RLHF, evaluations, and more . You’ll need some coding experience (Python) and familiarity with differentiation and linear algebra.
Governance and Strategy Programme — For policy and legal professionals, operations staff, communicators, and strategists.
No prior technical knowledge is required. The curriculum focuses on understanding AI risks, governance frameworks, scenario planning, communication, and career planning.
Hong Kong is positioning itself as a leader in AI. As Financial Secretary Paul Chan recently noted, Hong Kong must “coordinate development and security” and “seize the first-mover advantage” in AI innovation. The city has been developing governance frameworks, including sandbox mechanisms for testing AI applications in risk-controlled environments.
At this early stage of Hong Kong’s AI development journey, there is a rare opportunity to shape the culture and norms of the local AI ecosystem before they crystallise.
This is the ideal moment for Hong Kong’s talent to step up. The ML4Good bootcamp is your chance to be part of that future.
