New month, again?! And summer too! It always feels so shocking when summer is finally here, I’m waiting for it so much and then suddenly there’s light and warmth and I don’t know what to do with it.
My art studio Kulkælderen had a table at the Copenhagen comics, where we were selling our new anthology. I couldn’t buy anything (I need to save some money for upcoming trips) but I loved talking with my friends and colleagues, meeting new people and listening to interesting talks. Here’s some photos from our studio’s instagram:
After Copenhagen comics, I got a chance to hang out in Lille Mølle (“little mill”) in Christianshavn, Copenhagen, drawing and painting with my friend and colleague Cathrin Peterslund. It really was such an amazing experience, and even though I was 10 minutes away from my home, it felt like I slipped into a completely different time and space.
You can find more about the Lille Mølle from their website at www.lillemølle.dk

Find me at the Library
I continue to explore the libraries near me, in May I visited Islands Brygge library in Copenhagen.
Something sad
It was heartbreaking to hear about passing of Marjane Satrapi. She was an extraordinary comics artist, and her work had a big influence on the way how I look at comics as an art form, how I look at the world in general.
Persepolis is absolutely an essential read, but I’d also recommend reading Chicken with Plums, among her other works. There’s also a great animation adaption of Persepolis, that’s definitely worth the watch.
Rest in peace Marjane Satrapi.
