The Foot
Welcome to the 18th issue of the Aha Atlas Newsletter! This month, we’re talking about your feet. 🦶
Learn some foot anatomy, and how to empower your clients to make choices about their feet in their Pilates practice. Move your feet in a mini class with Talese. Grow with us by doing a guided foot meditation, and stay for the discussion where we talk about proprioception training for your feet. Then chill with us as we share our fave ways to love our feet.
Okay, here’s a little secret. 🤫 We’re both language nerds. So much so, that we separately looked up foot idioms for fun when we were creating this issue. When we confessed this to each other, we both burst out laughing. For your enjoyment (or to your horror – it’s Halloween soon), here are some foot idioms.
Get your feet wet Start something new Find one’s feet Start to feel confident in a new situation To be rushed off your feet To be very busy Have itchy feet Have wanderlust 🌍 To be on the front foot v. To be on the back foot To have an advantage in a situation v. To be at a disadvantage in a situation Have one foot on a banana peel Be in an uncertain situation, or at risk of sudden change for the worse Land on your feet Recover quickly after a failure or illness Footloose and fancy free Someone who has few responsibilities and can do whatever they wish You can’t put the same shoe on every foot One solution can’t solve all problems

Footloose
We’re sharing our favorite ways to love our feet. How do you take care of your feet? Reply to this email and let us know. We’d love to hear!
Talese: My top choices for happy feet include getting a foot massage, or walking along the beach while the waves lap over my feet 🌊. To do your own release work, check out the Grow Section in Issue #10 (The Warm Up). It includes a template on how to give yourself a foot massage.
Kai-Ting: I love this mini ball. It’s smaller and has more give than the pinky ball. With release work, I’ve found that less is more, and my feet feel so good using this ball. Check out this video on how to use the mini ball (and maxi ball) to release and strengthen your feet.
