Though tomorrow is the first official day of spring, we’ve slipped into some really lovely days here at the beach. I can’t wait to fully embrace the whimsy of this season.

And most importantly, I have some exciting news - my fiancée Sam and I got ENGAGED last week! This sweet life update has made me see every part of the world through rose-colored glasses.

This is a story for another time, but we met when we were five years old at Catholic school. We have truly grown up together. And though every season of life looked different (we didn’t start dating until our mid-twenties), we've really witnessed so much of each other’s lives and walked side by side. What a gift this has been to reflect upon.

Now, let’s get into things!

Reading- For our March book club, we read “The Correspondent” by Virginia Evans. I was obsessed with this read. It’s been a while since I have read an epistolary novel, and this really sucked me in. Though it made me desperately sad, the grief felt well-earned and important to lean into. I’m currently reading a number of books, but the one I am most excited about is “Hamnet” by Maggie O’Farrell. Her writing style is singular to me, and now I can’t wait to read her other bodies of work and see the movie adaptation!

Eating- I always love tacos, but I’ve seemingly been on a Diet Coke, taco, and queso kick lately. Maybe it’s the weather, but there is nothing like sitting outside on the patio and enjoying this meal with friends. I have a feeling it will be on repeat all spring long.

Playing- I live where the golf tournament “The Players” is hosted every March. Though I confess I’m not an avid golf fan, I do love this time of year. My friends and family all buy tickets to the tournament. I love getting a crisp drink and sitting in the sun by one of the holes all afternoon long. We all wear fun sundresses and big sunglasses. I look forward to playing at this tournament every year.

Obsessing- Obsessing over my engagement ring, which was my grandmother’s. We had the same birthday, and it really means more than I can put into words that I get to wear it on my finger. It’s a beautiful reminder of the commitment of marriage and of the love of my entire family. I am the luckiest! Also, the song “Rein Me In” by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean.

Recommending- Like everyone else, my house has fallen in love with the TV show “Love Story.” We find Carolyn endlessly chic and fascinating. My roommates and I really like to have a show we all watch together, and this has felt like the perfect addition for us the past month or so. I find myself thinking about JFK Jr and Carolyn like I know them personally. Also, I love the 90s vibe pre-social media. It’s really inspiring me to chuck my phone away.

Treating- This might seem silly, but I’ve been treating myself to walks and pilates lately. I was training for a half- marathon for so long that it felt like every day I had a long run planned. I was certainly burned out by the end. Though I am still happily running a few days a week, I have really been enjoying treating myself to long, slow walks with friends or a podcast, and a weekly pilates class. This has been a treat AND a form of self-care.

Hope you all are doing well and that wherever you are, it feels like spring!
