This Week’s Current:
This was the first week it truly felt like summer. While we aren’t traveling or have much to look forward to, I am just relishing the slow pace of summer. I am still getting up early, with my alarm at 6:45 am. I am so happy that I don’t have to make breakfast, or lunches, or yell at my kids to be ready on time, or spend an hour driving them to school. I now get up, make my coffee, spend some time catching up on social, texts, and I love to play Wordle or spelling bee on NYT games. By 8:30 AM, I jump into work.
The kids can SLEEP, and I let them. I do believe that they need this time to rest and recharge. Their schedules are grueling during the school year; they go nonstop. So, I let them enjoy summer by sleeping in and easing into their day.
Summer also makes me feel like I have regained a piece of my life. I can actually work out and not feel stressed about fitting it into my schedule. I have been consistently doing reformer pilates for the last month, and I can feel myself getting stronger. It is incredibly hard and humbling, but I am truly enjoying it! My body has gotten so soft because I haven’t really worked out or strength-trained since October 2025. It feels good to be working out again and seeing some progress.
Julian was in Mexico with a friend last week, and we just had Viv for a few days. I think it is always good to have one-on-one time with your kids if you can. We had a lot of fun going down to Beverly Hills. Leora is definitely worth the coffee hype! It is always fun to window shop on Rodeo.
Then we took Jon to Newport Lido Village for Father’s Day. I LOVE it there, it is such a fun escape, just an hour from where we live. They have great shopping. We had lunch overlooking the Marina at Nobu (John Stamos walked in and sat right behind us!!!)
My favorite store there is Alchemy Works, which is high-end women’s clothing and accessories. It is a cool vibe, and I could have bought half the store!
Viv, of course, loved Roller Rabbit, Loveshack Fancy, and Frankies Bikinis.
End of May and early June were so crazy, I can feel myself slowly starting to relax a bit. Unfortunately, we haven’t had a beach day, but hopefully this upcoming weekend!
ON REPEAT:
