I’ll never forget the shocking images from the covid pandemic: rows of people in body bags. Uncertainty. The masks, the isolation, the conspiracy theories. My friend who died in the ICU, with 30% lung capacity.
That’s the kind of horror movie we imagine when we think of a pandemic: a patient zero traveling through a mysterious exotic land, infection curves on the news, boils, gore, and plague-like symptoms.
But that perspective, although correct and fed by recent horrifying events, is not the only way this can go down.
