I’ve noticed how much I miss written text in my life.

Most of the work I do today is visual. I curate image libraries, work through references, and think in pictures for a living, and I genuinely enjoy that. But somewhere along the way, putting my thoughts into words moved into the background.

Writing used to be a constant for me. Throughout my education, I was always closely engaged with written text. In high school, literature was my major; I attended additional sessions beyond the regular curriculum to prepare for studying the arts. Later, film studies involved extensive reflection on philosophy, history, and the theory of motion picture. Design management followed a similar path, with continuous reading, essays, and publications that required structured thinking and written argumentation.

Over time, maintaining this practice became more challenging. The rise of image- and video-based platforms changed not only how we share work, but also how much space is left for reflection. Visual language became dominant, faster, louder, and more immediate.

My maternity break unexpectedly allowed me to reconnect with writing. With a different rhythm to my days, I found myself returning to texts, both literary fiction and professional reading, and missing the act of articulating thoughts, not just collecting impressions. That was when the urge emerged to create a space where reflections and insights from working in beauty could exist beyond images.

This month marks my seventh year working as a makeup artist. The market I work in requires me to move across genres, from commercial sets to private client work and education. I value this diversity deeply, as it offers contrast, perspective, and a clearer understanding of how beauty functions in different contexts.

The past seven years have taught me a great deal. Coming from a background in art and design management, working in teams, creating concepts, and shaping content together, doing something entirely on my own initially pushed me into a constant hustle mindset. Over time, I learned to let that go. About a year ago, I began defining my values more clearly, refining my core style, and choosing to work with clients who appreciate that approach. That shift created space, not only in my work, but in how I relate to it.

It feels like the right moment to return to what I’ve always been passionate about: sharing knowledge, teaching, and opening conversations with thoughtfulness and clarity. In a way I used to be very good at, and still am, through writing.

One of my most trusted products for achieving a radiant, camera-ready complexion. Its serum-like texture blends effortlessly into the skin and gently reflects light, rather than sitting on top of it. I reach for it when I want the complexion to look rested, polished, and quietly luminous, never shiny.

It is a small touch of luxury, but one that consistently makes a difference, both on set and with private clients.

Aging came up repeatedly in my one-to-one Beauty Sessions this week. While the biological processes behind it are well researched and increasingly well understood, the way we experience a changing body remains deeply individual.

What struck me most is that no amount of preparation can fully anticipate how someone will feel when they start to notice these changes. Creating space for clients to articulate their observations, emotions, and questions is something you cannot script in advance.

My approach is simple: openness, empathy, and compassion.
