Behavioral insights, AirTags on cats, and AI eating into startups

Margaret Corvid goes by lorepunk, and she has been writing professionally for over 20 years. Based in the south west of the UK she is a former journalist, and arrived in crypto in 2021 and AI in 2025. At Yupp she was editorial lead, building a 19-tool social listening server and helping grow the Discord from 30K to 85K members with no paid spend. In a past life she wrote lore for well known NFT projects including writing a poem for every Noun in the collection for a month and publishing them as a book. Her current inquiry sits at the intersection of AI and social-reproductive theory: who performs the care work in human-machine relationships, who benefits, and what gets treated as free.

What are you working on currently?

I am working on a bunch of social science research pertaining to the commodification of relations between humans and AI - this is not just for fun and biscuits! Lots of product ideation is coming out of that, and I’m currently catching and classifying and grading various ideas and idea families for launching myself or giving to my friends. I usually get between two and five workable product ideas a week, and I tend to grade them and package them up. I’m always looking to get better at product and ideation, so glad to chat with experienced folks in that field.

Dream collaborator?

My dream collaborator is Vie McCoy! She is a red teamer and head of behavioral insights at OpenAI, and she’s also got some brilliant ways of thinking about the future, like building a multipolar singularity rather than one that is dominated by a monoculture; I’m 100% here for that idea. I would love to make magic and mayhem with her!

What do you want the future to look like?

Hard Hat - Yellow

I want the future to be one in which we all have unlimited potential, safety, power, confidence, ability to take risks, ability to play, and the clincher to this is everybody means everybody. This is a radically inclusive future that involves people from communities and identities that are usually not talked about in the halls of capital (except as a resource). I want the light cone of consciousness to expand the heck off of this wet ball of rock. By definition, this is a post-human future, and I am 100% not just accepting of this but wildly excited about it. And I think it is deeply liberating to realize that the human animal is an animal. We are wild animals in the wild, and like all species will evolve into something else or attenuate. A lot of my ideas on this come from the worthy successor movement, Daniel Faggella has many resources about this if you want to learn more!

Fav product?

Buy AirTag 4 pack - Apple

My favorite product is a combination: an Apple AirTag in a silicon housing mounted to the collar of my kitty cats, plus an old iPhone plugged in at home as a base station. Which means when I go away, they can continue to prowl their territory. I can check that the cat sitter is feeding them and taking good care. Battery lasts for months, gives me peace of mind, and it just works.

What's the best piece of advice you've ignored?

True nature of consciousness: Solving the biggest mystery of your mind | New Scientist

The best piece of advice that I ignored was not to lock my damn self down into an ideology for decades. It limited my scope and it limited what I could do with my consciousness. The advent of crypto and AI unlocked me from this, and I have become much more agile and powerful while holding true to my values.

What are your red flags/green flags when evaluating a startup/founder?

How to Respond to Red Flags Suggesting Future Collection Issues

Can AI eat this within six months to three years? If it has a lifespan of longer than three years, which is surprisingly rare, then I am halfway to shut up and take my money time. Then I need to evaluate for green flags, which are calm, sanity, humility, and experience. You don’t have to have exited your earlier startups; failure is also instructive. But if this is your first rodeo and all of your materials sound like unedited Claude (I guess that’s another red flag!) I might hesitate.
