…"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me, and let the one who believes in me drink. Ask the scripture has said, ‘Out of the believer’s heart shall flow rivers of living water.’”

—John 7:37-38

Like two sides of every coin,
a river cuts through the valley of every soul.
It's beds run deep into the lands loin,
as its fingers discern truth from the whole.
Eroding and nourishing the roots along its banks,
the trees gather among its flanks.
Upstream towards its spring,
overflows the well as the rapids sing.
Upon the horizon, to its end,
a storm blowing up with the wind.
Clouds gather from each and every side—
the river’s current I wish not to abide.
Looking down I begin to see—
the river wild and free,
is flowing from inside me.
As safe as it seems to stay,
the stagnant water begins to fray.
Preferring stillness to the strife,
yet this place is not meant to nourish life.
Living water will never cease,
for here, we find our peace.
Forever forward we must go—
forever forward in His flow.
