This last month was so so so delicious, summer in London is amazing, but eating in this city really is something else. Had so many meals out that I’ve tried to condense them into just my top hits (you can follow along here to really see every meal). If you’re looking for mate spots, date spots, and solo spots, it’s time to get pinning!

Primeur
One of my old favourite restaurants (had been a massive fan for years) then hadn’t gone back for a while. The menu is currently so fresh, bright and full of great salady things - this and a spritz, you’re onto a winner. I loved the celery, date and pecorino salad (need to recreate asap) and the octopus salad that reminded me of Malaga (goat city).

The Golden Tooth
They were actually shut on this day so we went for bar snacks and a drink but firstly - a great pub: super big and airy and really empty (in a good way which means you can get a seat, but equally it was a Tuesday) and secondly - smoked ox tongue reuben!!! Hello! Juicy, meaty, cheesy perfection.

Auguste
Very much a stand out of the month: a very hot and sweaty girl dinner but phwoar. My favourites were the carpaccio with puttanesca salsa, grilled squid with beans and the arrosticini - grilled meat skewers. Which obviously seem very simple, but simple is so good

A Sunday roast at Sessions Arts Club
This was AMAZING - I reckon another stand out of July. Firstly, starters were beautiful, seasoned to perfection, they are on the smaller side but they’re basically pieces of art. The roast: ten, ten and ten. Crispy potatoes that have a proper crust on them, creamed spinach (!! our new addiction after this meal) and roast beef that was so well cooked I don’t think we can go out for another roast for a long time.

Tavern
Very fun, playful and cute. Food was good, with some standouts like the steak and the scallop in a lot of buttery sauce (obviously gonna be delicious) and some dishes average (the cod was so salty, sorry!!)

Morchella
Again, a massive summer winner. Went to try specifically the grill menu outside and it was honestly perfect: scallops, grilled corn with crab, nduja and octopus, cockles (yes!!!!!!!) etc. Summer on a plate/ on a table. Need to go back to try the set menu and their vongole looks legit. Preferred this to perilla actually!

Spring St Pizza
Massive, and very delicious. Nduja one was a bit spicy, saucy, sloppy in the best possible way. Need to go back to try the pepperoni and whatever other special they have on. Go with multiple people and eat a lot. Also, being able to do a half half pizza is the move.
After much consideration, this might be one of my favourite pizzas in the city!
