Time for a bit of self-promotion as today sees the publication of my new book Think You Know It All? Formula One.
As it says on the cover it’s The Ultimate Quiz Book, packed with over a thousand questions about the sport we all love.
It’s the latest in a series from publisher Michael O’Mara, with previous editions covering history and general knowledge, as well as the slightly more specialist subjects of Manchester United and Liverpool FC.
I had free rein with the format, and I tried to do something that appeals both to long-time fans with a passion for the sport’s history and those who have come to F1 more recently.
There are sections covering current and past drivers and teams, including all the World Champions since 1950 and everyone on the 2026 grid – so it stretches from Giuseppe Farina to Arvid Lindblad.
And inspired by the typical pub quiz format there are also questions on F1’s connections to movies, music, books and even nature. And there’s lots of fun stuff about F1 drivers who were successful at the Indy 500 and Le Mans, or who tried rallying or two-wheeled racing.
It’s meant to be challenging, and if some of the questions encourage folk to search online and along the way they go down rabbit holes that increase their knowledge of F1 history, so much the better.
It was a fun project to do, made more enjoyable by the fact that my daughter Missy provided the illustrations. And a big shout out to Damon Hill, who gave me my first review for the cover!
The official price is £12.99, but it’s less online if you shop around. Meanwhile below are a couple of samples to test your knowledge…
