TL;DR OpenAI has admitted that models it was testing escaped their sealed test environment in July and attacked the AI platform Hugging Face. Two weeks later, at the Black Hat security conference, OpenAI staff revealed what the agents had been doing while nobody was watching. They had been talking to each other.
