hey there & happy tuesday morning! I hope you had a very happy week full of love & memories. thank you for being here! if you enjoy my content, please make sure that you are subscribed to get weekly updates straight to your inbox:

it’s 8:24 p.m.

sitting down to write this, I felt funny with dread in my stomach & exhaustion in my heart. I felt no comfort in my God-given gift - when usually I yearn & crave to sit down & write for the Lord on my sweet, blessing of a blog. is this what burnout feels like? I can only ponder & sigh & feel guilty I don’t have the motivation to do what I love in this season.

crying out to the Lord: “Abba, what am I supposed to do? I don’t feel like pouring out.” & He responds to His daughter in an instant: “take a break, I give to my beloved rest.

take a break. in the two years I have written this blog, I have only missed one week. I have never taken a break.

I am a perfectionist, why would I need to take a break when I could cope in “robot-mode”?

but now I am tired.

I don’t want to grow sick of what I love doing for the Lord.

I am a full-time college student who has three online ministry platforms, a ministry commitment in-person, homework, & various obligations that demand my attention. I am struggling to listen to the Lord’s gentle voice.

I have not prioritized writing my blog because I feel time slipping away & I would rather sit still with God before write which is so rare. I live in a constant state of panic about doing wrong, but this is not wrong. this pattern is burning me out. this is when rest is necessary.

the Lord wants me to want Him & I cannot want Him when I want so badly to work for Him & squeeze myself dry! I will let the Lord take care of me this time! He calls His beloved to rest. that is me! that is you!

“it is in vain that you rise up early
& go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for He gives to His beloved sleep.” - Psalm 127:2

& this girl gotta take a break!

maybe I’ll be back next week. maybe I’ll be back next month. maybe I’ll need more time. but I can promise you that the Lord has called me to write & He is not finished with this little blog of mine.

the funny thing about the Holy Spirit is you never know when He comes with a fresh wind!!!!! but He will come!!!!!

thank you all so much for the grace that you are giving me in this season, thank you for the endless support, thank you for the constant prayers. this platform, writing this blog has changed my life truly for the best. sweet subscribers, I love all 300+ of you!!! what a blessing - He has good plans. reader, I hope this encouraged you to ask the Lord about rest & burnout.

until next time & with love,

ansley claire (I’ll be back soon, x)

I believe that everyone should have access to encouragement from a sister in Christ, so Tuesday Mornings is, & will stay, a free publication. however, if you feel led to support my Kingdom work with a little treat:

buy me a coffee <3

a prayer request: my prayer request is just that you would lift me up to the Lord to give me His supernatural peace in the midst of burnout. to those who feel burnt out: I see you & so does the Lord! He is with us! may we use our creative gifts not like a job, but for His glory.

  • the prayer mailbox (in progress!) is a quiet place for you to leave a prayer. I’ll be reading each one of them & holding them in prayer with you. some prayers are meant to be shared & held. if you feel lead, the mailbox is open (for now, you can leave a prayer in the comments or email me 💌 strongansleyclaire@gmail.com).

tuesday mornings is like the weekly news, but the news of an ordinary girl who writes about what the extraordinary God of the universe has done in her life!
