Why science is “applied” and revelation is “absolute”?

Today, we live majorly dependent on smartphones, medical breakthroughs and a closed box created within our tiny brains, with such extreme dependency on materialism, the easiest way out is to treat science as the ultimate judge of reality.

Let’s step out, let’s escape the inbuilt limited box and think wisely. Why does our brain give up the moment we hear science? Let’s say to admit a fact or to accept any kind of reality, why does the human behavior require a “scientific” tag before it to make sense?

Science at its core is the product of human knowledge. We bridge the physical world to observations, empirical data and assumed or subjective laws. Think about it, the first chapter in our 11th grade physics textbook was “The Physical World“. Therefore it’s all like a horizon which is created, edited and keeps on editing.

The most important rule of science is that it is never truly finished. Science is a human attempt to understand the world using the tools we have right now. When our tools improve, our scientific "truths" change.

Think about history: For centuries, scientists believed the universe was static and eternal. Then, new telescopes proved the universe had a starting point (the Big Bang) and is expanding. Science does not claim to have the final, unchangeable truth; it only claims to have the best guess available today.

This is not a flaw in science; it is how science is supposed to work. But because human tools are limited, a truth built purely on human observation can never be absolute. It is a map that is constantly being redrawn.

We ourselves don’t know how much we know! We tend to think as if we are close to being the most known creatures yet get embarrassed when nature speaks to us softly.

The Quran says :

Translation : "And you have not been given of knowledge but very little."

Surah Al-Isra (17:85)

By definition, divine revelation does not need to be updated, upgraded, or corrected. It represents absolute certainty because its source—God—is all-knowing and exists outside the limits of time and space.

Where science says, "This is our best model based on current data," revelation says, "This is the absolute truth from the One who created the data." It provides a fixed reference point in a fluctuating world.

No mother gave birth to a son who stated a single flaw in the Holy Quran! It is a challenge to the entire humanity to bring a single sentence which correlates with a verse almighty revealed.

Talk about the certainty, bring me a more certain and complete statement outside the holy book, on the other side, we are filled with flaws and corrections, our statements are weak, our thoughts are broken and untrustworthy

"This is the Book about which there is no doubt..."

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:2)

The simplest way to understand the difference between science and revelation is to look at the questions they answer. Science was designed to answer a question: How? (Newton asked himself how did the apple fall on me) while revelation answers the question: Why?

A physicist can measure the exact speed of light, and a biologist can map human DNA. But no microscope can discover the meaning of life, and no mathematical equation can explain why justice is good and cruelty is bad. Science can measure the physical universe, but it cannot give it a moral purpose. Science fails to explain morality, it may answer how the nature works but will fail to prove why nature moves the way it does.

Revelation steps in to answer the deepest questions of the human soul, the questions our soul asks when we look at the clean sky, when our eyes view the end point of an ocean, the pure voice which talks to us quietly and rewires our heart to question our existence, it gives up to the perfection the world is made to, how the the ratio of electromagnetic energy and gravitational force is 1:1 and a tiny flaw in that fraction can dismantle the universe? How can everything be so perfectly well designed. This can never happen by itself, there definitely was a creator who is almighty and powerful enough to create such s unique model of life!

"Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured/organized it..."

Surah Qaf (50:60)

Our hearts are witnesses, the inner scream when we get frustrated and feel helpless, a small difficulty exaggerates in us and we feel like nothing helped, nobody listens, but deep down we feel there is someone who can actually feel us and listen to us!

Say, 'Observe what is in the heavens and the earth...'" — Surah Yunus (10:101)

Do they not then reflect upon the Qur'an?”

—Surah An-Nisa (Verse 82)

Why Everything Marches Back to Revelation?

Ultimately, science cannot exist without certain invisible rules. To practice science, scientists have to believe that the universe is highly organized, that the laws of physics will not randomly change tomorrow, and that the world makes logical sense.

But why is the universe so beautifully ordered instead of being pure, random chaos? Where do these unbreakable laws of physics come from? Science can describe gravity, but it cannot explain why gravity exists in the first place.

This is why all paths of deep thinking eventually march back to divine revelation. Science can successfully decode the laws of nature, but don’t laws require a Lawgiver?!

"Indeed in that (Quran) is a sign for people who give thought (who try to think and connect the dots)." > — Surah An-Nahl (16:11)

Allah says :

‘Don’t you underestand? Don’t you get it?'

Think of the physical universe as a massive, brilliantly written book. Science is the act of learning the grammar and reading the sentences out loud. But revelation is the direct message from the Author, telling us what the story actually means.

"If the sea were ink for [writing] the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought the like of it as a supplement."

Surah Al-Kahf, Chapter 18, Verse 109

He wants to say something to us! He gave commandments to us and arranged everything according to our level of understanding

Read, listen, understand and hear the echo behind he revealed, inherit the words, observe and absorb the truth through his word and don’t say it was not told or sent to us!

"So which of the signs of your Lord would you deny?"
