I hope you learn to live a life that makes you feel alive.
Not just a life that looks good on the outside.
Not the kind you can style into an Instagram post with your oat flat white and your ‘living my best life’ caption.
A life that actually feels like yours.
One that fits you like your favourite old jeans — the ones that hug in all the right places, even if they’ve got a few scuffs and stories to tell.
I hope you stop twisting yourself to fit into other people’s timelines.
Their ideas of success.
Their expectations of what “a good woman” looks like.
I hope you remember how many versions of yourself you’ve had to be to get to this point — and you give her credit.
The girl who didn’t know her worth.
The woman who stayed quiet when she had something to say.
The one who kept everyone else afloat even when she was quietly sinking.
She wasn’t weak. She was becoming.
I hope you stop mistaking “busy” for “important.”
Because there is no prize for being the most overwhelmed woman in the room.
And while we’re at it — you don’t need to earn rest. Or joy. Or love.
That’s the modern world talking. Not your soul.
I hope you laugh so hard it makes your stomach ache.
That you dance in the kitchen in your dressing gown.
That you cry when it’s needed and don’t apologise for it.
That you let your body take up space, your voice fill a room, and your dreams be a bit bloody inconvenient if they have to be.
And I hope — oh I hope — you realise it’s not too late.
Not too late to try.
To start again.
To change your mind.
To make something from the parts of you that feel a little broken.
You’re not broken.
You’re unfinished
And wow, isn’t that exciting?
PS. If this landed somewhere with you — I write things like this most weeks, occasionally longer gaps. Sometimes raw, sometimes rebellious, always real.
