Oh, hi! I'm Aayushi, and I'm so glad you are here.
I have wanted to start this newsletter for a while now, and here I am – with head full of confusion, thoughts and feelings.
When I was thinking what I should name it, there were so many beautiful names on the internet. I even asked my friends for their opinions. Every time I went through my list, my eyes would land onto this one heading – "by Aayushi".
It felt simple. True. Like my own little secret that I'd be sharing with you guys.
I love reading not just books but every small piece of writing that makes me pause. Reading makes me think, makes me believe in things that might never happen. Reading gives me hope. I wasn't always a fan of reading. My Dad loves books, and he would often come home with stacks of them. I remember him saying, "Just start reading, it might be all you need." He was right. And now we both get new books every now and then, we talk about it, we share, it is fun. And one day I thought – why not with everyone else?
Also, yes – I'm an Engineer (true story). I realized that is not what I want to do with the rest of my life. Now, I'm building something else. I'm not that of a confident person when it comes to putting myself out there online, but I might just give this a real try, without judging myself, real and raw. I also like romanticizing my life, taking photographs and sometimes just sitting on the bench.
Here, you'll find:
Reviews of the books I can't stop thinking about (a conversation of course)
Personal reflections on everything in between.
Fragments and small things that don't need a reason to exist.
Think of it as a kitchen table with a chair pulled out for you. Some days we will talk about a book I can't stop thinking about. Other days, I'll share something I saw while walking home. It won't be the best, it might be a little rough but always true.
I like to think of this as a journal I've left unlocked. You are welcome to read over my shoulder. If you stay, I promise to send you pieces of my world, once in a while, with no rush. A little letter received from a friend, one that doesn't demand a reply but with hopes you'll write back in your own way.
Here's to something that feels like home.
Here's to a warm hug in your inbox.
xoxo,
Aayushi.
