The Best Family Vacation We’ve Ever Taken: Our Family of 9 at Woodloch Springs

We’ve taken our kids on a lot of trips over the years, but I can honestly say this was the best family vacation we’ve ever had.

If you’re looking for a getaway that’s close enough to drive but feels like a true escape, Woodloch is only about two hours from New York, and it completely exceeded every expectation we had.

We brought our entire crew—our family of nine, plus my mom and my sister—and every single person had an incredible time. That’s saying a lot when your group includes kids ranging from 2 all the way up to 14 years old! Finding a vacation that genuinely entertains toddlers, teenagers, and adults is almost impossible, but somehow Woodloch has figured it out.

From the moment we arrived, there was always something happening. You could stay as busy as you wanted from morning until night, and we never once heard the words, “I’m bored.”

Some of our favorite activities included:

Trivia

Mechanical Bull riding

Music bingo

The Toy Story party

The magic show

But that’s just scratching the surface. There are also batting cages, archery, arts and crafts, sports courts, playgrounds, and so many organized activities throughout the day. At certain times, you can even hop on one of their scenic boat rides around the lake, which was such a relaxing way to take in the beautiful surroundings.

Here’s a peak at what a day in Woodloch looks like:

When we wanted to slow down, we spent hours relaxing by the lake and the pools. The kids loved taking out the paddle boards and pedal boats whenever they wanted, and I loved that there was always something active for them to do.

There are both indoor and outdoor pools, fun water slides, and even a splash pad for the younger kids, making it the perfect place to cool off no matter the weather.

One of the biggest perks for us was that all of your meals are included. They have different meal plan options but as someone who plans meals for a family of nine every single week, not having to think about what everyone was going to eat felt like a vacation in itself. Every meal offered plenty of choices, and there was something for everyone!

We stayed in a beautiful five-bedroom house, and it was absolutely perfect for our family. Everyone had plenty of room to spread out, which is a luxury when you’re traveling with seven kids! The house even had a ping pong table, which quickly became one of the kids’ favorite evening activities.

At night after dinner, we’d all gather around the fire pit outside the main dining hall. They had a bunch of different games right next to the firepit which kept the kids entertained while we enjoyed a cocktail.

The grounds are absolutely stunning. Everywhere you look is beautifully maintained, and it feels peaceful while still being full of life. Whether we were walking to activities, sitting by the lake, watching the kids play, or simply enjoying the scenery, it felt like the perfect place to reconnect as a family.

As parents, we’re always looking for vacations where everyone has fun—not just the kids, but the adults too. Woodloch managed to do exactly that. My husband, my mom, my sister, and I all had an amazing time, but seeing our kids have so much fun together made it even more special.

I think what impressed me most was that there was never a dull moment. You can fill your day with activities from morning until night, or you can spend the afternoon relaxing by the lake. It really is the best of both worlds

If you’re searching for a family vacation where everything is taken care of, there’s endless entertainment, delicious food, beautiful accommodations, and memories your kids will be talking about long after you get home, I can’t recommend Woodloch enough.

Without a doubt, this was the best family trip we’ve ever taken, and we’re already talking about when we can go back.
