Shattering the silence

Time flies. When you’re having fun and when you’re not but simply busy.

When I announced Deliberately Difficult & Laughing, I said 42 Sidenotes wouldn’t be going anywhere.

And it won’t. It’s still on my mind. Still alive. Very much so, actually. I have plenty of ideas now that I’m returning it to its original brief:

Multifaceted, opinionated observations, answers, and questions on life, the universe, and everything. Sharing the knowledge, experience, and insights I’ve gained living with a, for 60+ years undiagnosed, neurodivergent brain in a neurotypical world.

That’s very broad. Intentionally so.

Over the two and a half years I’ve been writing on 42 Sidenotes, I’ve actively resisted the common blogger advice to niche down.

As a result, the topics have been…, well, all over the place.

No rhyme or reason to them except that they piqued my interest at some point, or simply entered my mind when I sat down to write.

I figured that this would, eventually, attract like-minded and like-interested people.

And that they’d find value in it. Coz providing value is absolutely what I aim for with every single article. If not through practical insights and tips, then through entertainment. (Yes, Nina may become a guest author here!)

Anyways, all of the above is my longwinded way of saying that I’ve finally accepted that I do need to niche down. At least somewhat. Not as much as Deliberately Difficult & Laughing is, but quite a bit more than before.

So, I’m asking for your help. Your input and feedback.

I would be over the moon (and back) when a you would share your thoughts with me.

For example:

• why you subscribed to 42 Sidenotes

• what attracted you to it (and was that before or after the quiet shift to what will now live on Deliberately Difficult & Laughing)

• what surprised you about it

• what you like and what not

• what you’d like to hear about more, and what less

Not asking you to answer them all (though I’d love it if you did!).
