Onward to my next project!

Let’s start with some highlights from Eugenia’s 4/4 Birthday event at I Want More Comics!

Although Eugenia Wang just had her first 4/4 birthday (it’s not the book’s first birthday, which will be 9/30/26), I’m moving on and working on my next project, which hasn’t been officially announced quite yet. The script of the first book in this two book series has been approved, and I’m moving on to layouts and rough pencils. I’ve continued to do school visits and caricature gigs, I’ve got new merch, and of course I’ll have your fill of this month’s comics for your entertainment!

What’s coming?

• Saturday, May 2nd I will be a part of the DPS Steam Expo at the CSU Spur at the NWS Complex from 9am - 2 pm doing comics and cartooning workshops throughout the course of the event and signing books.

• Fridays, June 5th, June 19th, July 24th, and August 7th, FREE caricatures from 7-10 pm at Friday Fest in Downtown Greeley

• Saturday, June 6th from 11 am - noon, I’ll be teaching Comic Strip Creation at the Broomfield Public Library.

• Saturday June 13th from 2:40-4:10 pm The Marketing Mastery Summit: My Debut Year: What I Did Before and After My Pub Date. Register for this multi-day virtual event (June 12-14th).

• Wednesday, July 1st at 7 pm Creating Accessible Books with Sara Fujimura and Stan Yan at Dandelion Books 139 South Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, IL. More info via SCBWI-IL Co-RA’s Sarah Hammond (sarah @ sarahhammond.org) and Jamie Ericson (jamie.n.ericson @ gmail.com)

• July 29-30, I’ll be doing FREE caricatures of attendees at the 2026 CASE Convention in Breckenridge, CO (times tba)

• Friday, July 31st from 6:30 - 7:30 pm, I’ll be on the Graphic Novel Author Panel at the Golden Public Library.

While I can’t say anything official yet, I can show you a timelapse video of what I’m doing now that I have my script approved for my next project. I’m brainstorming page panel layouts.

I’m still closed to studio commissions, but I have continued to do live gigs, so, you can still hire me to draw for your event at zombicatures.com.

I’m happy to say that I have had some more coaching students coming to me for help on their projects recently, but I am getting more busy with publishing deadlines, and I’ll be raising my coaching prices by June 1st. If you’ve been wanting to get one-on-one coaching from me, make sure to book before that for the old, lower prices.

I’m going to be regularly adding this section to my newsletter to highlight my favorite reads of the month, but I’m not soliciting books for review, so PLEASE don’t send me your book.

One more thing while we’re talking books.
