u guysssss this one is so late, but I’m still catching up with life… although honestly I’m starting to think chaotic is a new personality trait?
I’ve been thinking about hobbies a lot lately. My friend Ash 💚 is so good at trying new things all the time, even with a VERY busy schedule just jumping around the world… but no matter where she is, she manages to carve out time for herself, and I truly find that so inspiring…
It’s easy to come up with a million reasons why we don’t have time for things, especially after having kids, but the truth is it really takes a toll… and it starts silent until it becomes so loud you can’t hear anything else…
Here are 3 things I’ve done this week to make time to feel like my own human:
Started an online class that terrifies me, because it means I need to really put myself out there and be raw… but honestly I had forgotten how much JOY it brings me to learn. It’s been so nice to reconnect with that part of myself.
Started waking up earlier than my kids to have at least 10 minutes of peace before the chaos… even if I’m of the theory that every minute counts when it comes to sleeping, I’ve been feeling so dysregulated waking up to kids screaming all the time, this feels like the only choice.
I booked myself a trip to NYC alone. I haven’t been to NYFW in years, and as much as I do love my life, NYC is the place where I truly feel most like myself. So if you’re in NYC Sept 6–12, hit me up, I would be so excited to meet some of you IRL.
Before I forget, we’ve officially opened the invite for our next Women in AI dinner in LA , SEPT 14. You guys this one is gonna be so good!! we have Lana Ivory from Meta (Ad Age named her a 2025 Gen Z to Watch, no big deal) & we also have Sarah Genn, the queen of UX strategy. Last time tickets sold out quickly and a couple of you were upset you couldn’t make it, so act quickly!
On that note, I’d love to get a better feel of what you guys want these dinners to cover, since we’re planning the upcoming ones. So let me know!
We had the pleasure of going to a reading in Silverlake this past weekend organized with Mother magazine, and these pajamas blew us away… both my kids started saying MINE, MINE… take that as a stamp of approval.
Talking about a stamp of approval, Dr. Diamond does it again, now with a lip treatment that actually helps fill in fine lines and brings out the moisture of your lips… I have never bought anything faster.
One of the highest-ROI pieces in my closet is a Sloan cropped jacket she refuses to remake (help me convince her)… Julia came up with a new take on it that honestly has been living rent free in my mind (even though I couldn’t show my belly like that)… think high waisted jeans for a coffee run, or a long skirt ( other options HERE & HERE & HERE), which would look amazing with THESE briefs) to go somewhere fancy, or even a pair of oversized bermudas ( THESE are on sale and are isnane + THESE are are good alt + love THESE green ones specially with THESE shoes), … I’ve done the math and it’s worth it, so: you’re welcome
I introduce you…… drumroll please…..
Besos,
Victoria
