Slowing Down on Purpose

I hit publish on my last post in late November, then disappeared.

If you’ve been following along, you might’ve noticed. No Part 3 of the “Vibe Coding to Agentic Development” series. No updates. Just quiet.

There’s a good reason: we had a baby.

Turns out it’s hard to write coherent thoughts about engineering workflows when you’re running on 3 hours of sleep and your brain is trying to remember if you’ve had coffee yet or just thought about having coffee.

The last few months disappeared into two things: a newborn and a deep dive into my homelab. Writing lost the competition for attention.

I haven’t dropped the agentic development series. If anything, I’ve slowed down on it deliberately. The space is moving fast, and I’d rather publish something concrete—grounded in actual experiments and failures—than rush out vague abstract takes. I’m actively testing things and letting that work mature before writing.

The entire premise of the series is about being deliberate. Building systems that actually work rather than just vibing your way through. It would be hypocritical to rush out articles about thoughtful engineering while frantically maintaining a publishing schedule just for the sake of it.

The homelab work will likely turn into its own set of articles. New thread, different goals, same curiosity. There’s a lot to unpack there—decision-making process, hardware choices, tradeoffs between managed services and self-hosting. Real content, grounded in actual decisions and real constraints.

I’m writing when I have something worth saying. The goal isn’t maintaining a content calendar—it’s building a library of useful, tested, practical information.

If you’re here for the agentic development series, it’s coming. If you’re interested in the homelab stuff, that’s coming too. And if you’re just interested in practical technical writing that doesn’t hype everything up or dumb it down, you’re in the right place.

I’m starting 2026 by slowing down on purpose. Not because I don’t have things to write about, but because the things I write about should actually matter.

See you when I have something worth your time.
