FireAid: How to help all those (including musicians) in Los Angeles who really need us right now

The wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles are a grim reminder of nature’s fury and a devastating example of what a climate emergency looks like.

With at least 25 lives lost so far, tens of thousands evacuated, and countless structures reduced to ash, these fires have left a scar on the city’s landscape and psyche. As flames threaten iconic landmarks like the Getty Museum and the Hollywood Hills, thousands upon thousands of families have lost their homes and everything they own.

Firefighters—backed by crews from nine states and Mexico—battle around the clock, facing erratic hurricane-strength winds and increasingly dangerous conditions. I can’t stop thinking about the tragedy of the countless lives upended, homes destroyed, and futures rendered uncertain.
