It works in any discipline. I’m not bigger than the craft.

Talking about humbling discipline, I got hit by a car on my new motorcycle. It was the third time I had ridden it. I’m okay, I’m lucky.

One lesson I’d like to share: don’t skimp on gear. I was geared up, dorsal and all, and that made a huge difference. Special mention goes to foot protection, which has always been low on my worry list until recently. Without these boots, my foot and ankle would probably be less pretty.

That’s how I easily convince myself to get a turntable. To bring back intention and respect to the music. Appreciate the scarcity. Now.

What a great hobby. Just thinking about the idea of hunting for a micro-collection of essentials, discussing the wantlist, the albums that really matter with my wife is exciting enough already.

… I wasn’t ready for the price of records today btw. What‘s going on?

So I convince myself again. In Australia, a record cost about 3 bottles of wine. Once a bottle is empty, I throw it away. The Dark Side of the Moon, though, will be spinning forever.

[For my BIFL community: I got a bulletproof Technics SL-1500C that my kids will still rock in 30 years. It’s only a few dollars a month if you think about it that way.]
