Every so often, I get asked about the origin and make of my avatar, as seen on my website and my Fosstodon profile. So, here it is.
Inspired by the avatars of Kev@fosstodon.org and Mike@fosstodon.org, both drawn by Kev, I decided to draw my own in a similar style. The keen-eyed among you will indeed spot a few differences in design.
I used Inkscape to draw over a photo of mine, simple vectors only, no special brushes required.
Due to the similarity, I did ask Kev to confirm he had no objections to me using this avatar as my profile picture. Other than using their avatars as stylistic references, there are no other links between my avatars and theirs, their owners or the Fosstodon instance.
