WFH today, on puppy watch, and taking a 4-day week, so off tomorrow. It's stonking hot at 37 degrees. Insane. What are we doing? Got to do some exam prep, which I keep putting off. I hate exams so much; I'm not good at them. Hate that I'm forced to do it! Doing some design, refactoring, and general planning otherwise today. Straightforward enough.
Started the day again with a 7am walk. It's so lovely at that time. The temperature isn't stupid, and it's quiet. Bonnie's been doing great sleep-wise the last two nights, too, so I feel like I'm becoming human again. Another day working from home! A lot of them at the moment. With the heat and the pup, it makes me feel less guilty if I'm around. Today is all about catching up or getting ahead. A big ol' day of planning, I think. Solo. Got the rough brief for this next quarter, and it's a lot of tech uplift instead of product delivery. Nice change! I've been wanting to do some architecture uplift and heavy refactoring, so this is perfect timing and fits into exactly where I wanted to target. It's nice to get into the details.
Not sure where today has gone so far. Working from home. Been told we need to become Anthropic-certified partners, and work is covering the cost + offering an incentive, so I'm gonna work towards that. One of my colleagues is leaving, which is a shame. He's probably my favourite and is way stronger of an engineer than I think the team realises. Tired. Today carries on.

Was nice to get to the office today and catch up with the team - a pretty casual day. Some had just come back from a trip to the US. One thing I've realised I'm having an issue with, when using agents to build, is that I work across multiple repos in different combinations - and that means I don't have a context for that combination. The agent burns tokens to gather context for the combination, mapping out what's related and how things tie together. What's the solution? I could just create a folder for each combo that contains…
Working from home! No gym today. Wife took our Pup to meet another Pup, her friend, and her children - Great for the pup, and great for focused time for me. Rounding out a bunch of things today, ready to go early access hopefully tomorrow. Exciting! Now trying to get a hold of another project, see if I can get on top of it and ensure it gets delivered ASAP.
