I host and develop the Community Archive, a community-driven open-data twitter repository, to help us study our collective brain and coordinate for collective action.

Christine and I are going through a software incubator for public good (surplus.dev), and so we’re working on each other’s projects! On Community Archive and Cuties!.

Last week we made a 3 month roadmap and then challenged ourselves to do it all this week. And we mostly did??

Here are some things we made for the Community Archive:

User Profile is a way to view and share your twitter canon. You can now easily view your best tweets of all time - where best means that other users have found them worth quoting - AND you can manually edit your page to curate posts. Next up is creating sub-sections which will show the themes and arcs you traversed each year. Take a look!

The Front Page now features a live dashboard with the latest news, trending terms, research reports, and top tweets (bangers) of the moment. You can see at a glance what is happening on this part of twitter.

Bangers is a community wall of fame. We’re moving towards a canonical body of work for the kind of people who join the community archive. Here you can see all the influential posts and ideas people thought were worth citing over time.

The Daily Digest is a twitter newspaper featuring the most relevant posts in our community. It is a collaboration between human editors and AI. We hope to gather user feedback so we can easily improve the newsletter prompt. The intention is also to run a weekly digest that you can subscribe to on Substack.

I am so tired and I love doing this work it has been really fun. That said, after building so much, what I’m most interested in is what people find value in. Give me all your notes and feedback omnomnomnom.

Best,

Xiq
