Hi everyone! Welcome to Part Two of the pregnancy series. If you missed Part One, it’s here: the surprise conception, growing our family at forty and everything I leaned on to survive the first trimester. The response to that one was overwhelming, and so many of you wrote in afterward with follow up questions, so this half goes deeper into the practical, in the thick of it stuff.

This is the part I get asked about most: what it actually looks like to grow a baby while chasing a toddler, what I’m carrying into round two and how we’re getting ready for two under two.

I also go somewhere in this one I haven't fully gone before. So many of you asked about breastfeeding, and I decided to tell the whole truth about my experience with Tedros, the part that became the hardest of my entire postpartum. If you've ever felt like you were failing at something you were told should come naturally, I hope my experience makes you feel less alone.

As always, this one is for paid subscribers. Your support is what lets me keep showing up here and sharing this honestly, and I don’t take it for granted. Thank you! Here’s everything I’m answering in Part Two:

  1. What it’s really like being pregnant with a toddler

  2. The biggest differences between my first and second pregnancy, and everything I’m doing differently this time

  3. My thoughts on birth this time, given my history with preeclampsia and IUGR

  4. What I want to do differently in my postpartum

  5. Breastfeeding and weaning, and where we landed with Tedros

  6. Maternity clothes, especially pants, and where I actually shop

  7. Newborn essentials, and a note on what’s coming this fall

  8. The rapid round: finding out the sex, and the great name search

Let’s get into it.
