Psst. Moms, forward this.

  1. An un-rushed morning that she doesn’t have to coordinate. Time in bed with hot coffee. An un-rushed shower. Maybe a special breakfast carried in by little hands.

  2. A snapshot in time. Help young kids fill in the blanks (these are free and printable). Help older kids make handwritten cards. As moms, it is so special to know how our children see us, and to have this season captured in words.

  3. Something beautiful. A sweetly set table. A picked flower. A lit candle. Make this as simple or grand as you want. Even a small gesture of beauty goes a long way.

  4. To feel seen. A book that holds what she’s been holding. My poetry collection, A History of Holding, honors the physical and emotional transformation of motherhood. It’s a companion that will make her feel less alone. For last-minute orders, the book is available on Amazon with prime shipping.

Happy early Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there. I see you and the love you carry into each day. No matter the circumstance. No matter how tired, sick, or mentally burdened you are, you show up again and again. You love as if you know no other language. I hope you feel celebrated this year and always.

A small gift for you: If you’d like to do a bit of guided journaling to celebrate yourself and your motherhood, I put together a list of 15 questions to help you reflect, celebrate, and honor yourself this Mother’s Day. Download it here.
