Now, let’s use this wedding to make a quick workplace analogy…. Stay with me

Ronaldo is like Microsoft and those big big companies, who have all the resources to do the absolute most, but chose to keep things simple oo

Then there’s your oversabi boss, behaving like the Ayobo couple with a tight budget, but the KPIs they set for you have multiple figures and surnames.

Whyyyyyyyy? 😭

And when you ask how it will be done, they say:

“Just think outside the box.”

Outside which box, abeg? 😭

Nigerian bosses, please set realistic targets before pressure finishes all of us this Q3, it is not funny at all!

Here’s a personal experience from someone in our community that you may find very useful:

How I Did It: Work Life Edition
This may seem like a small issue, but at one company where I worked, taking leave never really meant leaving work. My colleagues would call me for passwords, documents and explanations about tasks I had already handed over. Sometimes, I would have to open my laptop to resolve an issue because no one else knew where a file was saved or how a particular process worked.
I would return from leave feeling just as tired as I was before it.
How I Handled It
Before my next leave, I created a detailed handover document containing important passwords, file locations, pending tasks, deadlines and instructions for handling recurring issues. I also took a colleague through everything before leaving and informed the team that I would only be available for a genuine emergency.
That was the first time my leave actually felt like rest. You might find this useful too, so I just thought to share.
