“I AM THE MOST PRODUCTIVE PERSON I CAN BE!” Said no one in the history of productivity 😂

We can read all the books, we can download all the apps, or even try all the hacks out there.

But somehow… being productive always feels like we’re falling short.

Here’s what I’m realizing these past days though: LESS is actually more.

So instead of trying to master 100 productivity hacks all at once, I just picked a handful of small shifts, and I’m telling you… that made such a big difference!

Me just chilling here in HK before flying to SanFrans for a month!

And here’s how I actually did it! These are the 4 things I’ve changed that calmed my brain and actually helped me get more sh*t done:

👉 Planned each day with just 3 clear goals (not 87 to-dos I’ll never finish lol)
Turns out when I finish 3 big things, I feel accomplished, and not guilty about the 84 I didn’t touch.

👉 Chose better over more
One solid output beats five half-baked ones that I’ll just redo later anyway.

👉 Actually told my team when I needed help
Spoiler: no one gave me a medal for struggling alone, but I did get real progress once I asked.

👉 Swapped “I need to do more” with “what actually matters today?”
That shift killed the guilt spiral and forced me to focus on what moves the needle.

And guess what? I feel way lighter, less guilty, and way more focused

Productivity isn’t about doing more, cause it’s all about feeling better while you do it!

How about you my friend, what are some habits that have helped you recently?

Rooting for you,

Sho

In an era where AI and automation are reshaping entire professions, choosing a career that can weather the storm is more important than ever. An analysis by Visual Capitalist found that jobs involving high human interaction and judgment tend to have the lowest automation risk. That’s why understanding which roles are most resilient can help you future-proof your career. Here are five high-paying career paths that exercise skills AI struggles to replicate.

  1. Healthcare Roles That Require Human Judgment And Empathy. Professions like doctors, nurses, and therapists continue to be among the most automation-resistant. After all, they involve unpredictable human needs and emotional complexity, which are areas where algorithms still lag.

  2. Skilled Trades That Depend On Hands-On Expertise. Electricians, plumbers, and construction supervisors combine physical dexterity with on-the-spot problem-solving. According to the U.S. Career Institute, many skilled trades have near-zero automation risk and are projected to grow significantly.

  3. Leadership And Strategic Management Positions. These roles are difficult to automate because they require skills that technology can’t replicate, like setting a vision, navigating complex relationships, and influencing people.

  4. Creative Careers That Rely On Original Thinking. Creativity, storytelling, and design innovation are areas where machines can assist, but the spark of original human insight remains uniquely human. Creative careers are proving to be increasingly resilient.

  5. Tech Roles Focused on Building and Guiding AI Systems. While AI may replace some jobs, it also creates new ones. Skills in AI, machine learning, and data engineering are in high demand and are comparatively safe from automation. A 2024 Cornell University study noted significant growth in jobs where AI and human skills complement each other.

The 5-Day “Future-Proof” Habit

This week, spend just 15 minutes a day future-proofing one aspect of your current job.

  • Monday: Identify one repetitive task you do every week (e.g., writing a summary report).

  • Tuesday: Go to ChatGPT or Gemini and write a prompt to automate that task. Example: “Act as a project manager. Here is my raw data [paste data]. Write a one-paragraph summary for an executive audience, focusing on key trends and action items.”

  • Wednesday: Refine your prompt. Try three different versions to see which gives you the best output.

  • Thursday: Use the AI-generated text as a first draft. Spend 15 minutes adding your own human insight and strategic analysis, fact-checking any claims that the LLM generated.

  • Friday: Compare the time and quality of the AI-assisted version to your old manual process. You’ve just started building a future-proof skill.

  • The AI Salary Premium: It’s official. AI skills pay more. A recent Lightcast report found that job postings mentioning AI skills offer a salary premium of up to 28%.

  • The Rise of “Human-Only” Skills: In response to AI, employers are placing a higher value on skills that are difficult to automate, such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and creativity.

  • Don’t Fear the Robot, Build It: The fastest-growing job categories are not being replaced by AI but are actually created by it. Roles that involve building, managing, and guiding AI systems are seeing a surge in demand and compensation.

Audience Question:

I thought this was such a fascinating look at where we’re headed. Francisco was touching on a massive shift: using AI as a shield against the “performative” parts of work.

In my vodcast, I talked about how climbing the corporate ladder isn’t for everyone, especially if you hate the “game” of politics. What Francisco did wasn’t cheating. It was a strategic adaptation.

If a hiring process prioritizes “smooth talking” over “problem-solving,” you’re simply using a tool to level the playing field. The future of being “future-proof” isn’t just about what job you have, it’s about how you use technology to bypass the fluff and stay focused on your highest value.

Here are some ideas on how using AI can “Politics-Proof” your career:

  1. Use AI for the “Performative” Work

    • Whether it’s prep for a tricky 1:1, navigating a “political” email, or practicing interview responses, let AI help you with “corporate speak.”

    • The Goal: Minimize the time you spend on the stuff you hate (politics) so you have more energy for the stuff you love (your craft).

  2. Double Down on “Human-Only” Proof

    • AI can give you a script for an interview, but it can’t build a genuine relationship with a stakeholder or use empathy to solve a team conflict.

    • Use the time you “save” with AI to focus on the high-judgment tasks we discussed in this week’s take.

  3. Audit the “Game” You’re Playing

    • If you find yourself needing AI just to survive the culture of your company, ask yourself: Am I climbing the wrong ladder? AI can help you get the job, but it won’t make a toxic culture any more bearable in the long run.

The “Future-Proof” Mindset Shift:
Don’t just use AI to replace your work. Instead, use it to protect your peace. Use it to handle the “noise” of corporate life so your “signal” (your talent) comes through louder.

Check out our vodcast on the 4 Signs That Climbing The Corporate Ladder May NOT Be For YOU where we check if:
