Eclipse season began on August 12th, with a New Moon, Solar Eclipse in Leo. The second eclipse in this cycle is a lunar eclipse on Thursday, August 27th, in the sign of Pisces.

Right now, we write in the eclipse portal. We create in the surrender of this season. Eclipses are moments of karmic path-changing, surrender, re-alignment, and departure.

From Latin eclipsis and Greek ekleipsis, an eclipse is an abandonment, literally "a failing, forsaking," from ekleipein to forsake a usual place. And so, eclipses speak to change. They arrive as an omen, a prayer, a blessing, and an illumination.

During this writing circle:

• We will discuss eclipse season and the sacred themes and celebrations of this time, especially as they relate to our creativity

• We will be inspired by catalytic ideas, quotes, and passages from Word Witches who have written about eclipses

• We will write with two different prompts to create gorgeous and imperfect first drafts in celebration of eclipses

• We will share if we feel called to with the circle

• We will set our intentions with our Word Witch wands (pens!)
