Hello! I have a question. You could say, as an exaggeration, "He is so hungry that he could eat a horse." When you talked about his past hunger, you could say, "He was so hungry that he could have eaten a horse." It implies that you said it hypothetically. Hardly anyone can or will eat a horse in reality. My question is: Is it possible to say or write, "He was so hungry that he could eat a horse."…
