Yesterday, we had the opportunity to meet in person with our apprentice as we closed the first month of the apprenticeship journey at Women GAIN Rwanda. It was a meaningful moment to pause, reflect, and evaluate our progress together.
Over the past month, our focus was largely on learning: understanding the organization, building relationships, exploring ideas, and gaining practical knowledge. During our reflection session, we discussed what worked well, areas for improvement, the challenges we encountered, and the lessons we learned along the way. Most importantly, we explored how we can strengthen our collaboration and maximize the impact of the apprenticeship experience moving forward.
As we enter the next phase of the program, we agreed to shift from learning alone to putting that learning into practice. The knowledge, skills, and insights gained during the first month will now guide us as we work together to contribute more actively to Women GAIN Rwanda's mission.
Beyond the discussions and planning, the day was also an opportunity to connect on a personal level. Sharing meals, exchanging experiences, and spending time together reminded us that meaningful work is built on strong relationships. It was also a blessing to connect with our advisor, Kim, whose guidance, encouragement, and insights continue to support our growth and strengthen our journey. It was exciting to sit together, work together, and openly share ideas about the future we are building for the young women and communities we serve.
Moments like these strengthen the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning. They remind us that growth happens not only through training and workshops but also through conversations, reflection, and shared experiences.
