The Department of Justice sits on unreleased files on the father of Donald Trump that, if released, could shine a light on the Nazi and Fascist nostalgia of the current occupant of the White House. According to a source who is familiar with the unreleased files, Fred Trump was the subject of monitoring by the FBI and Justice Department prosecutor O. John Rogge.

Rogge spearheaded the Great Sedition Trial against dozens of Nazi sympathizers for treason. Had the trial judge not died during the trial, Fred Trump may have been fingered by one or more of those indicted for their ties to Nazi Germany.

The Trumps have been rather masterful at feeding a fairy tale history of “hard-working” builders and entrepreneurs to the world of publishing, news media, and public relations. Following Trump’s disastrous use of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence to hype himself, he sent out on his Truth Social platform photos of his family and father Fred, Sr. Trump referred to his father as his “mentor.”

Fred Trump first surfaced as a far-right provocateur when, on May 30, 1927, he was arrested during a violent Ku Klux Klan riot in Queens, New York during the Memorial Day parade. The parade honored those who died in what was then known as the “War to end all wars.” The files released by the FBI on Fred Trump include press clippings of his arrest during the Klan protest. However, there are no records on Fred’s activities until the 1960s and 70s, when the FBI files included documents on his construction firm’s ties to the New York mafia and a Justice Department lawsuit against Trump for violating the Fair Housing Act. Fred Trump was such a well-known racist that in 1954, Woody Guthrie wrote a song titled “Old Man Trump.” The song recounts the bitter experience of Guthrie and his family the two years they lived in Trump’s Beach Haven apartment complex in Brooklyn.

Fred Trump’s father, Frederick (Friedrich) Trump, a German immigrant, sought to have his German citizenship restored after having it withdrawn. Frederick’s citizenship was stripped by his native Bavaria after he fled to North America to dodge military conscription. The Trump family has been deceptive to biographers when it comes to Frederick’s activities in Manhattan during the First World War. There are indications that the original Trump family patriarch spied for Kaiser Wilhelm’s government as a way to bargain for the restoration of his German citizenship.

Frederick Trump died at the age of 49 from the Spanish flu. Although the Bureau of Investigation, the predecessor of the FBI, did its best to monitor German intelligence and sabotage operations in the United States, it did not possess the manpower and resources of its successor. The Trump family has been deceptive in its recounting of Frederick’s activities during the First World War, even inventing a non-existent hotel in Manhattan. The claim that Frederick was a manager of a German-American-owned hotel called the Medallion is as laughable as the scores of other Trump family false assertions. The Bureau of Investigation’s resources were not so sparse that such a hotel, if it existed, would have attracted the attention of federal agents. Given the anti-German policies of the Woodrow Wilson administration, a well-known pro-German individual like Frederick Trump should have come to the attention of the government, including the Polish-American Bureau of Investigation chief A. Bruce Bielaski, but, inexplicably, did not.

Frederick Trump was likely a manager at the Hotel McAlpin on Herald Square, the world’s largest at the time and a venue for high-level military and diplomatic conferences that would have been of great interest to German intelligence. Frederick’s possession of pass keys to every room in the hotel would have yielded a gold mine for the Germans. Trump would have had a virtual free reign at the McAlpin. Although Lucius M. Boomer was the official manager of the McAlpin, he also managed the adjacent Waldorf-Astoria and Hotel Claridge for the DuPont family, which owned all three hotels.

The Trumps may have given away the plot by dreaming up the “Medallion Hotel” name. The McAlpin was known for its terracotta medallions and architectural roundels that were integrated into the hotel’s facade. It’s more than likely that the McAlpin and medallion hotel became as interchangeable as Woolworth’s and “five and dime.” What would would have attracted Frederick Trump and German intelligence to the McAlpin is the fact that it drew as guests politicians, diplomats, and wealthy businessmen, making it resource-rich for espionage. Among those who Frederick would come into contact with were former President William Howard Taft, various Tammany Hall politicians in New York, U.S. Army Signal Corps personnel broadcasting from the hotel, and leaders of the League of Small and Subject Nationalities (LSSN), a group of aspirant nations that held its first congress from October 29–31, 1917. Some of the delegations at the LSSN Congress in 1917, such as Ireland’s Sinn Fein, were known for their anti-British and pro-German views. They would have been a high priority for a German influence agent like Frederick Trump.

Frederick Trump’s extreme pro-German views were passed on to his son Fred. On May 30, 1927, the ninth anniversary of Frederick Trump’s death from the Spanish flu, Fred Trump was arrested at the Queens KKK rally. Trump was charged by the police with "refusing to disperse from a parade when ordered to do so." Police later dropped the charges. The New York Times story on the arrest stated: “Fred Trump, of 175-24 Devonshire Road, was one of seven men arrested at the rally for allegedly brawling with cops at the parade. His case, however, was discharged at the arraignment.” KKK leaflets distributed after the arrests proclaimed: “Americans Assaulted By Roman Catholic Police of New York City! Native born Protestant Americans clubbed and beaten when they exercise their rights in the country of their birth.”

New York Police Chief Joseph Warren cited another group active on Memorial Day, along with the KKK. Warren told a press conference that another parade organized by black shirted Italian pro-fascists (fascisti) in The Bronx also required police intervention on the same day that the cops arrested Trump and his fellow Klansmen in Queens. Two fascisti were killed by anti-fascists or “antifa” if one so elects. We recently learned that the Justice Department and FBI files contain documents pointing to Fred Trump, Sr. being involved with both the Klan and the Italian fascists prior to his involvement with pro-Nazi groups like Association of the Hitler Movement (Bund der Freunde Hitler Bewegung), the Steel Helmets (Stahlhelm — the World War I German veterans organization of postwar German immigrants to the U.S., which was a major agent recruiting pool for Nazi Germany), League of Germandom Abroad (Verein für das Deutschtum im Ausland - VDA), the Friends of the New Germany and its successor, the German-American Bund (Amerika-Deutscher Volksbund). These files should be released without delay as they point to a multi-generational criminal conspiratorial threat to the United States and its Constitution by the Trump family.

Fred, who continued to speak German in his home, was not the only German-American living in the northern states who was attracted to the Klan. That would change, however, as the Nazis began to take control in Germany. No sooner than had Adolf Hitler taken power in Berlin, a number of pro-German political organizations took root in the United States. Among them were the Silver Legion and the German-American Bund, the latter, with its national headquarters and newspaper offices in Yorkville in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, attracting the support of the fluent German-speaking Fred Trump, Sr. Berlin’s promotion of “pan-Germanism” was intended to appeal to members of the German diaspora abroad and Fred Trump clearly fit the target profile.

Given that Fred Trump spoke German, he most certainly read German. His fealty to Germany would have been stirred by this exhortation to German-Americans published in the Nazi newspaper Stuttgarter NS-Kurier: . . . the program of the young German-Americans, no matter to which organizations and groups they belong, is: We want to bring the Germans in the United States, who in part have become alienated from the German fatherland and from the German nation, back to the great community of blood and fate of all Germans. To this end the spiritual regeneration of the Germans after the model of the homeland is necessary. When we have attained this goal, we will organize the Germans in order to give them, after the completion of their spiritual regeneration, economic reinforcement and political schooling. German-Americans, thus prepared, economically rejuvenated and politically active, shall then be used under our leadership in the coming struggle with Communism and Jewry in the reconstruction of America.”

It is clear that Fred Trump had no time for New York Democratic Governor Herbert Lehman, who served from 1933 to 1942, during the apex of Bund activity in New York City and the Tri-State area that included southern New York State, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Bundist and Nazi propaganda during Lehman’s term criticized Lehman merely for being Jewish and being part of the Lehman Brothers investment banking family. Governor Lehman’s support for New Deal public housing projects put him at loggerheads with Trump, who, as a home building tycoon, favored private housing even if it was partially subsidized by the government. In 1949, Lehman was elected to the U.S. Senate. In 1954, Lehman had the opportunity to turn the screws on “Old Man Trump” by having him called before a Senate committee investigating financial profiteering and abuse in federally-subsidized housing programs administered by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). Perhaps Lehman had caught wind of Trump’s Bundist activities before the war because he subjected Trump to an aggressive interrogation regarding millions of dollars in windfall profits at the expense of the federal government. Lehman pressed Trump about excess payments remaining in a bank account under Trump’s control, to which Trump asserted that he did nothing illegal.

Fred Trump also despised New York Mayor Fiorello La Guardia. There were several reasons why Trump hated La Guardia, not least of which was the fact that the mayor’s mother, Irene Luzzatto Coen, was Jewish. Mayor La Guardia, who current New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is often favorably compared to by politicos, favored public housing rather than the FHA-subsidized housing that helped make Fred Trump wealthy. La Guardia also took on housing slum lords like Trump. Trump’s apartments in Brooklyn and Queens were described by many renters as lacking basic maintenance standards, earning “Old Man Trump” the moniker of a slum lord.

Trump was particularly incensed over La Guardia’s opposition to a German pavilion at the 1939-40 World’s Fair in Trump’s home borough of Queens. Germany planned one of the largest pavilions at the fair and was allotted more land than any other participating country. La Guardia, Governor Lehman, and attorney and Democratic Party official Samuel Untermeyer — a founder of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League — strongly opposed the German pavilion and were major proponents of an economic boycott of Germany. Fred Trump and his fellow Bundists hoped for a German pavilion that was promised to attract a visit from Hitler, himself, on the planned German Day at the fair. Trump, who was known to be a tightwad, invested heavily in a Trump Homes art deco sign that ripped off the copyrighted official fair symbol of the Trylon and Perisphere, a 700-foot triangular obelisk and a 200-foot spherical globe. The sign was placed on an access highway to the fair. Fred Trump would never have the opportunity to participate in the activities of the German pavilion because Germany canceled its participation after , threats of protests, a U.S. economic embargo on certain goods and currency transactions, and growing geopolitical tensions in Europe over Germany’s annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia threats against Poland.

Fred Trump hoped that his expensive billboard would not only advertise his company to World’s Fair guests but also to Adolf Hitler had the planned massive German pavilion been built and opened to the public

The concept design for the planned massive German pavilion at the 1939-40 New York World’s in Queens was based on Hitler’s architect Albert Speer’s design of the German pavilion at the 1937 World’s Fair in Paris. The Germans would have been well-disposed to letting construction contracts to pro-Hitler Bundists in the New York region and Fred Trump would have been a natural candidate for such contract awards. Speer’s designs for a new Berlin and Donald Trump’s designs for the White House and its ballroom share monumental neoclassical architecture.

Lehman likely had obtained a fairly comprehensive dossier on Fred Trump during his time as governor. Among his first acts was to direct state law enforcement and intelligence agencies to monitor the activities, finances, and propaganda distribution of the Bund and Italian fascist affiliates operating within New York.

For Fred Trump, the consummate racist and anti-Semite businessman, the plans of Nazi Germany for the United States was a godsend. Fred Trump was not the only disloyal German-American citizen or permanent resident of the United States to harbor sympathies for the Third Reich. Fred’s Nazi belief system was passed on to Donald Trump. We have witnessed the seeds of Nazism and fascism permeate through Trump’s two terms in office.

Fred Trump and his fellow Bundists would have taken much pleasure in Hitler’s monologue for his plans for the United States as revealed to Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Rauschning, the Nazi author of the 1939 book Hitler Speaks, which was gladly made available to Hitler’s fifth column Bundists and others in the United States. Hitler said, “The wholesale aversion to the Negroes and the colored races in general, including the Jews; the existence of popular justice; the naïveté of the average American; but also the skepticism of certain intellectual circles who have found their wisdom vain; scholars who have studied immigration and gained an insight, by means of intelligence tests, into the inequality of the races — all these strains are an assurance that the sound elements of the United States will one day awaken as they have awakened in Germany. National Socialism alone is destined to liberate the American people from their ruling clique and give them back the means of becoming a great nation . . . I shall undertake this task simultaneously with the restoration of Germany to her leading position in America . . . Have you forgotten that the declaration of German as the national language was lost by only one voice in Congress? The German component of the American people will be the source of its political and mental resurrection.”

To the fluent German-speaking Fred Trump, Hitler’s words must have been messianic in nature. The German-Americans would be the new leaders of a reformed United States with Hitler’s backing. When Donald Trump claims that Fred Trump was his mentor, he might as well have said Hitler is his other mentor.

Donald Trump’s use of the phrase “poisoning the blood of our country" with regard to immigration is taken from Hitler’s Mein Kampf’s warning about the dilution of German blood. Trump’s phrasing of "communists, Marxists, fascists and the radical left thugs that live like vermin" mirrors the rhetoric of Hitler and Mussolini. In 2016, Trump paid homage to Mussolini by repeating his quote: “It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep." Trump waxed nostalgic for Hitler when he privately praised Hitler's generals, wishing his own military personnel would show him the same level of unquestioning loyalty and obedience.

The creation of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers around the United States, facilities that have registered extrajudicial executions and other inhuman abuse, are no different than Nazi Germany’s labor camps in the early 1930s. ICE prison centers, including unpaid work camps, are only a few steps away from becoming full scale Nazi-style concentration (death) camps. ICE agents who have indiscriminately and brutally arrested and executed immigrants, permanent residents, and U.S. citizens rivals that of the Gestapo and SS in Nazi Germany.

Trump’s threats to invade and annex Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal, Venezuela, and, by way of his ambassador in Reykjavik, Iceland, are no different than Hitler’s threats against Austria, Czechoslovakia, Lithuania, Poland, and France. Trump’s stoking of secessionist sentiment in Alberta and Saskatchewan is no different than that stirred up by Hitler in the Austrian Länder of Styria, Carinthia, and Upper Austria; Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia; Memel in Lithuania; the Polish Corridor and the Free State of Danzig; and Alsace-Lorraine in France.

Trump’s Nazi and fascist rhetoric is complemented by that from Elon Musk, whose maternal grandparents were Nazis in Canada and, later, in South Africa. Peter Thiel, who is an immigrant from Germany, has praised fascism and the South African apartheid system. Stephen Miller, Trump’s White House deputy chief of staff, has heartily embraced neo-Nazi and fascist racial dogma, even though he was raised Jewish in southern California.

Trump’s “official” history would have us believe that Fred, who spoke fluent German and was aware that his father would have done anything to return to his native Germany, did not participate in the activities of the several German social and cultural organizations in the United States, including those that were penetrated by the Bund and other Nazi organizations in the 1930s. After the United States entered World War II, Fred Trump insisted that he and his father were Swedish, a deceptive tactic that continued after Donald took control of the Trump Organization. The “Trump being Swedish” tactic was an obvious attempt by Fred Trump to distance himself from the Bund and related pro-Nazi organizations. Such flagrant lies are the Trump family’s stock-in-trade and they have been heartily adopted by the fourth generation of Trumps.

Knowing full well of the treasonous activities of two generations of Trumps — Frederick during World War I and Fred before and during World War II — the Trump Organization saw to it that all negative information was erased from the written record. Commissioning puff piece biographies, most notably the “official” family biography, The Trumps: Three Generations of Builders and a President by Gwenda Blair, the family could confine their story to information released by the Trump Organization’s official “historian,” John Walter, Donald Trump’s first cousin and who came up with the nonsense about the “Medallion Hotel,” that was eagerly gobbled up by Blair. In-house “historians” and “biographers,” along with litigious attorneys, ensured that the sordid treasonous activities of the Trump family were kept secret. Donald Trump would continue the family reputation as traitors to the United States when, in 1977, he married a Czechoslovak StB (Státní bezpečnost, or State Security) intelligence asset, Ivana Zelnickova. But that is another story and it is important to focus on the files on Fred Trump, Sr. that are being hidden by the Department of Justice and FBI.

Fred Trump, Sr,’s involvement with the German Nazis and Italian fascists would not have been a high priority for investigation by FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, who was preoccupied with rooting out suspected Communist agents in the United States. Hoover assigned FBI agents to keep track of European anti-Nazi exiles in the U.S., including Bertolt Brecht and Thomas Mann. Hoover certainly would not have found Fred Trump’s politics to be threatening to the security of the United States since both despised the Communists. It is noteworthy that Donald Trump took the occasion of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence to not only make the celebration all about himself but also to resurrect the era of Senator Joseph McCarthy to denounce “Communists” in the United States. Trump was not only channeling the anti-Red rantings of his father but also those of the Trump organization’s attorney, Roy Cohn, who had previously served as counsel for McCarthy’s Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

While Hoover busied himself with a dubious “Red Scare,” others in government were more concerned with the “Brown Scare” posed by Nazis and pro-Benito Mussolini fascists. There were two major investigations of fascists and Nazi activity in the 1930s and 40s. They were conducted by the 1934 Special Committee on Un-American Activities (the McCormack-Dickstein Committee, which investigated a fascist Wall Street plot against President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The committee’s intelligence on the attempted coup was provided by retired Marine Corps General Smedley Butler. The committee probed the activities of the German-American Bund and the Silver Legion of America, both of which were pro-Nazi. The Special Committee issued its report in February 1935 and disbanded. Dickstein continued to warn about the Brown Scare posed by the Nazis and fascists in the United States. Speaking on the House floor on December 21, 1937, Dickstein revealed that he had compiled hundreds of names of domestic Nazis and fascists, which included members of the Ku Klux Klan and Bund, both of which were connected to Fred Trump, Sr. Dickstein stated: “I have always protected character and reputation in respect to any name I have inserted in the [Congressional] RECORD, and I say to the membership of the House that if out of these hundreds of names that I have buttonholed as Fascists and Nazis, or whatever I have called them, only six filed a protest, I think I have done a pretty good job.” Collected testimony consisted of 4,300 pages.

Dickstein and co-chair John McCormack, a future House Speaker, were criticized by General Butler and writer John Spivak for failing to go after the moneyed businessmen and propagandists who backed the coup and follow-on acts of sedition benefitting Nazi Germany and the other Axis powers. These included Henry Ford and his son Edsel Ford, Irénée du Pont, Chairman General Robert E. Wood of Sears Roebuck & Company, President of General Motors Overseas James Mooney, Singer Sewing Machine Company heir Robert Sterling Clark, The Texas Company (Texaco) chairman Torkild Rierber (who had financial ties to Nazi Germany and Generalissimo Francisco Franco’s Fascist government in Spain), the business-backed American Liberty League, the Crusaders and the American Liberty League (backed by Du Pont and General Motors), National Workers League, popular radio broadcaster Father Charles Coughlin and his Social Justice Society, Mutual Broadcasting Corporation broadcaster Fulton Lewis, the Knights of the White Camellia (a KKK affiliate), the Silver Shirt Legion of America, Italian Fascist organizations like the Fascist League of North America (which Fred Trump was affiliated with along with the Bund), Christian Mobilizers, Christian Front, the National Civic Federation, American Nationalist Confederation, the pro-Nazi Order of ‘76 (the intelligence officer for which was Fritz Duquesne, German Abwehr colonel, naturalized South African immigrant, and leader of the wartime Duquesne Spy Ring). The Duquesne Spy Ring linked the Bund to Nazi espionage in the United States.

Others supporting the concept of overthrowing Roosevelt but kept their distance from the plotters included the man FDR defeated for re-election in 1932, Herbert Hoover, mega-publisher William Randolph Hearst, famed aviator Charles Lindbergh and his America First Committee, Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) president John L. Lewis, and America Olympic Committee chairman Avery Brundage (who was instrumental in ensuring that the U.S. fielded athletes as the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, thus preventing a boycott).

One of the gambits of the Bund and its allies was to point to the fact that America’s allies in World War I never fully paid their debts to the U.S. Treasury and, therefore, should not be assisted by the FDR admininstration as tensions increased with Nazi Germany. The Bund-backed Make Europe Pay War Debts Committee advocated that thge U.S. seize British and French colonial possessions in the Western Hemisphere as compensation for their war debts. Realizing that Donald Trump is absolutely ignorant of history, his demands for Greenland from Denmark and threats against NATO for a false belief that member nations are not carrying their load is no different than his father’s friends who pushed the World War I war debt nonsense.

Yet-to-be-released DOJ files on Fred Trump, Sr. may yield information why Trump was intent on securing contracts to build military barracks and housing at the chief U.S. Navy troop embarkation bases, shipbuilding yards, and armaments factories along the U.S. east coast. Trump would have also been a leading opponent of economic boycotts of Germany. His connections to the sale of imported German products at his Queens supermarket and his interest in capitalizing on building tenders for the German pavilion (later canceled by Berlin) at the 1939-40 World’s Fair in Queens and the possibility of a visit by Hitler to the pavilion on a planned Germany Day at the fair. It is difficult to believe that given his pro-Nazi sympathies and Bund connections, Fred Trump would not have been among the over 20,000 attendees at the Bund rally at Madison Square Garden on Washington’s Birthday, February 20, 1939.

The Nazi Bund-connected Fred Trump managed to be awarded housing contracts for U.S. Navy shipyards during World War II, including the Sun Shipyard in Chester, Pennsylvania. These shipyards and bases were rife with German spies, including many German military veterans who immigrated from Germany to the United States after World War I.

The second major investigation was conducted by federal special prosecutor O. John Rogge, who had helped to bring down the corrupt and fascist-oriented political machine in Louisiana led by Governor and Senator Huey P. Long. According to newly-discovered information from reputable sources, there are DOJ files on Fred Trump’s involvement with both the Nazis and fascisti in the New York region and, possibly, beyond.

Based on new information, the derogatory information on Fred Trump, Sr. is very likely held in the withheld-from-release files of O. John Rogge. Not able to bring his investigation to trial until 1944, Rogge’s case against 33 Nazi and fascist sympathizers, including Bund leaders Gerhard Kunze, August Klapprott, and Herman Schwinn, reached a dead end when the trial judge, Edward C. Eicher, died. Eicher’s death resulted in a mistrial. What became known as the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 was dead and the evidence compiled by Rogge and his FBI agents was squirreled away by the DOJ. It is known that the Bund’s links to saboteurs, spies, and influential Republican and Democratic political office holders ran deep.

In 1946, Rogge was fired as special prosecutor by Attorney General Tom Clark, a future Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Rogge argued for the release of the files on the domestic Nazis and fascisti, but Clark and FBI director Hoover were only interested in exposing Communists. The Brown Scare was forgotten and it was the Red Scare that would dominate American politics well into the 1960s. Nazi sympathizers and assets like Fred Trump, Sr. could breathe easy. The sequestration of Rogge’s files would explain why there is a huge gaping hole in the FBI’s dossier on Fred Trump, Sr. sandwiched between the 1927 arrest at the Klan rally and racist and mob-related actions in the late 1960s and early 70s.

Three generations of Trumps committed acts of treason against the United States albeit their reasons differed in intent and scope. Frederick Trump left Germany for North America to avoid military conscription in Germany and strike it rich in the California and Yukon gold rushes. Supplementing his income by owning hotels, bars, and whorehouses, Fred returned to Germany a wealthy man but was soon informed that, as a draft dodger, he had forfeited his German citizenship and was expelled, along with his wife and child, to New York. Frederick, a German at heart, would have done anything to have his German citizenship restored and acting on behalf of German intelligence during the First World War would have been the solution. Fate intervened in 1918, however, and Frederick died from the Spanish flu, his dream of returning to Germany unfulfilled.

Fred Trump, his father’s equally pro-German protege, would carry on the family name. Fred’s early involvement with the Klan and later linkage to the Bund and the Nazi German government, were aimed not in moving to Germany with his family but making the United States more like the Third Reich. Even after World War II, Fred Trump decided to sport the same short mustache that was made infamous by Hitler. Fred would never see the fascist coup against FDR succeed or the United States falling to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan but his son Donald, through his treasonous activities with the USSR, Czechoslovakia, and Russia, would result in a rolling fascist coup against the United States and its most cherished institutions beginning in 2017 and continuing to the present day. Had Frederick Trump survived the 1918 flu pandemic, he would have likely returned to Germany with his and his family’s German citizenship restored. Fred Trump would have most certainly been drafted into the Wehrmacht and the world would have never heard of Donald Trump. Somewhere in the multiverse that pleasant reality must exist.
