First, a fresh art and location for the Given World of the Ultraviolet Grasslands and Our Golden Age, then some news about my homepage. —L.

In the Violune of Green® Camelia VII, in the year marked by the Hollow Skink, the seed of amber baobulb drifted down from the Void and lodged in the ear of a sleeping géant, a servant of the Capricious Translator. The seed whispered to the phytomancer Teuvel’s Grandsire, called him from the bubble-town where he life-toiled as an agricole. Armed with a plasma pick, the Grandsire lobotomized a collective Sintractor and made for the Peripheral Zone.

The Amber Baobulb at 200.

Twice the Lords’ Agents caught the Grandsire, but both times he escaped with the greenfinger wizardry whispered into his mind by the amber baobulb’s seed. He also had other adventures, as recounted in the Song of the Rolling Tractor. At last, haggard but afire with the Green, the Grandsire reached the sleeping géant and with his trusty plasma pick severed its Builderlink, making permanent its sleep, a seedbed of its voidflesh.

Then the seed of the amber baobulb sprouted, its roots tunneling through the géant’s flesh deep into Soil, feeding upon the harvested nutrients and the nuclear heat of the voidborn géant. For seventy-two years, a half-cyclical, the Grandsire sang to the amber baobulb. When his body failed, the amber baobulb embraced him and digested him and from his source code birthed a descendant, the Sire, who sang to the amber baobulb for another seventy-two years. At last, grown into maturity, the amber baobulb blessed the Sire with a child, the Teuvel Zwrgoleiz, the Songbird sent forth from the amber baobulb to explore the surrounding Peripheral Zone, to plant eyes and ears and noses and tongues for the amber baobulb to know Its land.

Over the years, others joined the amber baobulb. Wagabunds accepted to build a wheel-nest within its roots, Rocktalkers to plant singing and playing stones about its base, and the Listeners of the Teuvel to dwell upon the amber baobulb itself, to sup ‘pon its sap and dwell within its song-world. Scruffscrabblers now petition the Listeners to sow and reap, tend and dwell within its Green Aura, where the quick and the Red feel distaste and unease—a faux Phylake settlement out beyond the reach of any Gardener or Civilization.

Now that I’ve paid for your time with some fiction, some news.

I’m reassembulating wizardthieffighter.com on a different platform, in a different format and style. This reassembulation will be messy. Most links will die. The seodaemons will not be appeased. Not all pages will make it.

see, it’s not just an illustration, it’s also an announcement...

This has been a long time coming, yet it is also sooner than I was ready. No matter. I likely would have been no readier with more time.

I moved wizardthieffighter from blogger to a self-hosted wordpress site back in 2016 as I expected Google to kill blogger next, after cutting down G+. Well, it’s been nearly 10 years and to my surprise, blogger is still there.

Now, the time has come to leave my wordpress platform. I built a wordpress blog because it was the CMS I knew, but today I frankly don’t have the time or desire to maintain a website this way anymore. As for the wordpress CMS, I didn’t enjoy it ten years ago and the Gutenberg backend changes didn’t increase my enjoyment. The juggling of plugins and security? No thank you. On top of that, my host went from convenient and affordable to complicated and overpriced.

Just look at my posting history to see how often I get around to posting through the wordpress interface—not often enough to justify it.

So, going forward wizardthieffighter.com is going to get reassembulated to put the focus on my books, zines, art, and other works. As for blogging … well … I’ll see. I’ll keep posting on patreon and substack, and I might compile some posts into future works.

See you on the other side of this noöspheric permutation!
