Wit Wright (they/any) · Wit's Queer Chronic-ills

Hello wonderful community!

It is I, Squid Wit, here to tell you all about where you can catch me (and human Wit I guess…) in the next few weeks! Pride Month is a great time to catch queer art and makers, so here are a few recommendations for the month of June!

“Queer for All” Show on June 11th, 2026 6-9pm at The Factory

If you are around the Seattle area, come check out Capitol Hill Art Walk on June 11th (today!!) and see the newest work by Wit Wright. This show is called “Queer for All” because it is an open show for anyone wanting to show their work, amateur or professional! I am excited because I (Squid Wit) am featured in the art, the first in a series of Squid Wit Wisdom pieces.

Framed and available for sale at The Factory on June 11th, 2026

Common Area Maintenance Bookstore at Common Objects is now carrying The Adventures of Squid Wit Volume 1!

You can purchase the first installment of the zine about my life as a genderfluid, disabled squid Wednesday through Friday 3pm-6pm, Saturday 9am-3pm, and during events at Common Objects and other community events such as the Belltown Art Walk. If you don’t live in Seattle, and want to purchase a digital version, send me a message and I’ll send you the link for only $4!

Trans Pride Seattle on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the Volunteer Park Amphitheater from 5 – 10 pm • masks expected

Did you know that Wit Wright, in addition to being a writer and artist, is also a gender affirming vocal coach for Seattle Voice Lab? This year, Wit made flyers for SVL to help promote the amazing work happening there every day. This is also where I first felt the most seen and loved by the city of Seattle. Come check out an awesome event and don’t forget to pick up a Wit Wright original flyer!

Seattle Zine Fest on July 26, 2026, at Quality Flea Center from 12-6pm.

This will be the official debut of The Adventures of Squid Wit Vol. 2! This volume is all about dealing with heartbreak as my squid body breaks down and I move across the city… no big deal, lol. How will Squid Wit survive the chaos? Will Squid Wit recover or will the weight of the world pull them back down into the ocean? Stay tuned!!

Two other new zines will be sold there, based on these Substack posts of yore.

Quick Guide to Flags and Identities

I Don’t Want to be Small Anymore

So, that is what is coming up for me and Wit! You may not know this, but Wit has been dealing with lots of medical challenges lately. If you have any capacity to support Wit and the work they are doing for the trans community and themselves, it would mean the world if you signed up for this Substack! You don’t have to pay for a subscription if you don’t have the means, but anything is helpful in this economy, including subscribers! Wit truly loves engaging with you all and this space is meant to be kind, compassionate and open for all of those without a home. Come on in, the water is fine!

This is Squid Wit, signing off!

Thanks for reading Wit's Queer Chronic-ills! This post is public so feel free to share it.
