I got annoyed by someone online who kept repeating that Donald Trump won the 2024 general election by “a landslide.” I started looking up election results, news analyses, and transcripts of speeches.

It turns out that Donald Trump himself just really loves the word “landslide”, and he uses it constantly. He wins by landslides, his support helps loyalists win by landslides, his enemies lose by landslides, etc.

I thought it would be interesting (and humorous) to explore the election results while reframing them by taking Donald Trump at his word. If he won in 2024 by exactly one landslide, by how many landslides has every other US president won?
