Compelling stories without the carnism? Now there’s a wild thought!

Wildthought Books is a new independent, vegan-led publisher of fiction, non-fiction, children’s and YA books. We’re an international team, currently based across Britain, France and Sweden, who came together in 2024 to offer like-minded authors an exciting new platform to share their stories and creative voices.

Our first submission window is OPEN NOW. See the full guidelines here. In a few sentences, we’re looking for:

Fiction: We crave captivating characters and inspirational ideas for a world where all beings are respected. If you have a novel, novella, children’s or young adult manuscript that mixes an ounce of compassion with a huge dollop of intrigue, we want to read it!

Non-fiction: Are you the next great ethical chef, traveller, dancer, fashion designer, woodworker, zen teacher, political analyst, bodybuilder, dog rescuer, castle restorer, linguist, or plant-lover who makes gardening fun? If you have a story to tell (and can tell it in style!), we want to learn more!

Novels for adults and teenagers are currently under-represented in submissions, so if you have written one, get in touch!

In ‘Wild Thoughts’, we’ll be sharing updates on our ethical publishing journey, details of submission windows, insights into what we’re reading and what we’re thinking about, and calls to get involved to help make the world (and the written word) a little friendlier to all animals.
