Starting in May, we are changing how our contests are run. If you are a subscriber to this Substack, you are automatically entered in our giveaways.
There is just one catch: some of our contests are only for Island residents. So, if you are an Islander, we invite you to sign up for the PEI section. We’ll send a link once we have it all set. Don’t worry, you won’t get duplicate emails.
Every Saturday, we will send out a brief message—a baking tip or a short article—and a link to that week’s website or Facebook post. You see, lots of people have signed up to follow us, but the new algorithm doesn’t care about followers anymore. In fact, 95 per cent of the people who see our posts have no idea who we are. We aren’t ghosting you; Facebook is like a disapproving parent who wants to break us up.
This way, you won’t miss any of our recipes or tips. And although you won’t need to manually enter our contests, it’s always nice to know what’s available to be won! I promise we won’t abuse this relationship. We won’t share your information or try to sell you things. Besides that being plain wrong, we are simply too lazy and too technically incompetent to even try. You’re covered both ways!
Just a quick tip: Since it’s been a year, your email provider might think we’re strangers. If you want to make sure we stay together, just reply to this email with a “Hi!”—it tells the internet we’re friends and keeps us in your inbox and out of the spam folder.
