Whitney Matheson · Hi, it's Whitney

Oh, what a weekend! First was Brooklyn Pride, always a joyful time:

Happy Pride, everyone!

After the Knicks won, we returned to the streets, where a brass band soundtracked a late-night dance party:

My feet are still sore, and I hope the good vibes last forever.

In other news, I saw Kate Berlant perform at The Bell House, and I haven’t laughed that much in much too long. She brought an A+ set and killer halter top.

Kate Berlant at The Bell House.

I also watched Alice and Steve on Hulu (did you know Jemaine Clement’s son is named Sophocles?) and finished the first season of The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins (Peacock), which was recently renewed. In honor of painter David Hockney, I took in A Bigger Splash, the stylish (and sexy!) mostly-documentary. Hockney died last week at age 88, and what colorful life he lived.

  • Farm Aid is back! I’d go except that’s when my kid wants to see Taking Back Sunday, which will be a very different experience.

  • A man found Alice Cooper’s credit card at an Arizona gas station and got to return it in person.

  • Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil has written a memoir.

  • Pitchfork (re)assesses Hole’s Celebrity Skin.

  • Marc Maron: “I thought there would be more of a panic or more of a feeling of sadness (after ending WTF), but that didn’t really happen.”

  • I enjoyed this “day in the life” video with Rocky Horror star/lover of vegetable juices Luke Evans:

  • My kid is super-psyched about this Green Day-themed road trip film:

  • And hey, my phone reminded me that we shot/edited Continuity Errors four years ago. Time is crazy! I’m still so proud of this little film.

Time to go change into my jumpsuit. See ya at the next parade.
