Rest has been hard to achieve lately , and I’ve found myself leaning often on Imagined Rest—tiny mental escapes. While not ideal, they’re serving as small bits of nervous system regulation until real, deeper rest becomes more accessible.

Katherine May’s newest podcast, The Clearing. Listening to folks talk about their dream retreats helps my mind wander off the leash and into its own temporary mental retreat.
Re-watching (and re-watching) The Detectorists — a meditative BBC series created by Mackenzie Crook about the DMDC (Danebury Metal Detecting Club) where the height of drama is a rival detecting club’s encroachment on their current plot of interest.
Tiny sketchbook diagrams of things I imagine doing in nature; like trying out a Winter Hammock session on a more sunny, less frigid day, which will surely be coming someday to our slowly thawing Minneapolis.
