We are entering a world where materials are no longer just inputs. They are strategic assets, geopolitical leverage, and the actual bottleneck on innovation.

I came to the US to pursue graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon. My PhD thesis was on rare earth magnets, the materials that quietly power everything from electric motors to defense systems. I spent twenty years in advanced manufacturing in the semiconductor industry, including leading quality for a multi- billion semiconductor facility. I watched COVID amplify the shortage of materials and how these can quickly jeopardize a production line highlighting that the right materials and supply chains are crucial to shipping products.
