A round up of the things we’re loving lately… some books, some clothes, some cosmetics, the things making it into the carry-on and with us to the horse show.

The good reads of late

  • The Frozen River (based on the real diary of an 18th century midwife, murder mystery, a strong female lead that you root for from start to finish)

  • Keeper of Lost Children (historical fiction, post WWII, three woven narratives)

  • Man’s Search for Meaning (a classic and perfect for your quarter life crisis)

  • The Great Alone (or anything from Kristin Hannah, reading her books is like watching tv. this one follows a family’s move to the Alaskan wilderness w lots of drama to unfold)

Other ways to fill the hour

  • Acquired — we’ve talked about this podcast before and will talk about it again. The hosts digestibly unpack the stories of great companies from Rolex to Trader Joe’s (other favorite episodes include LVMH, Costco, and Hermes). The episodes are hefty but perfect for the roadtrip to your next show.

  • Kindle — as much as I prefer turning paper pages sometimes it’s not realistic to haul books around on the road. My kindle is my euro summer companion <3

  • Align app - obsessed with reading my friends human design charts to them, they are scary accurate and so fun

For your face and body

  • Make up forever super boost — barely there makeup is so in and this skin tint is perfect for the job. Looks like your skin but better, exactly what you want if your show weeks includes a nice dinner or event. My staplleee this summer.

  • Christopher robin scalp scrub (if you don’t like texture, k18 detox shampoo) — after a week in a helmet, especially in hot weather, your scalp needs some tlc. These were my favs I found this summer. Use once a week to make your hair feel actually clean.

  • Innisfree green tea bright eye serum - I won’t lie and say that this product is undeniably life changing, but I am bought into using eye cream/serum these days and love the roll-on applicator. This one is light weight, feels like it does something, and is the ideal travel size.

  • Fino premium touch hair oil (especially if you have dry hair) - family trip to Japan souvenir and I keep buying more. (one of those things I thought only existed in Japan and I had to stock up on but in reality Amazon will deliver by tomorrow.) I reapply this oil on the ends of my hair multiple times a day. Leaves a smooth finish and smells delishhhh.

  • Kosas revealer concealer — don’t like to wear much makeup especially in the summer, covers redness very well, especially from sunburn 😊

  • Compeed blister patches - no shot I would’ve survived the summer sandal/loafer to riding boot pipeline without these

At the end of the day, we’re just girls who like shopping

  • A fun second layer — my normie friend recently came to her first horse show, when she arrived she called me and said “what are you wearing… wait everyone wears the same thing.” Eliminate this problem w a fun sweater/sweatshirt/overshirt. We’ve been loving some personality in our show uniforms. Some of our favs

Have to include snackssss

  • Summer rolls — so quick to make and always delicious. Easy to pack w veg and protein hidden in peanut sauce. I loosely follow this recipe but make it your own

  • The Good Crisp jalapeno flavor - a healthy pringle just really hits the spot, and the mini cans are the perfect size to throw in your carry-on or ring bag

These are the summer winners so far…

Adrienne, Alex, and Lucy
