Nothing better than a few days in Paris. The food, the culture, the shopping… it’s what dreams are made of. Luckily, traveling or showing around Europe often means a pit stop in the city ends up on the calendar. A few weeks ago, leading up to Chantilly — one of my favorite weeks — I took advantage and stuck around for a few extra days. A complete guide to Paris is nearly impossible to create (and probably no fun to sift through), so instead, here’s the ideal weekend itinerary I followed.
Hotel recommendations –
We stayed in Le Marais at Pavillon de la Reine for proximity to restaurants/cafes and shopping and would highly recommend it.
Others we like: Le Burgundy, Prince des Galles, Hotel de berri Champs Elysée, La Demeure Montaigne, Hotel Lancaster
Day 1:
* After a morning arrival, we’d head to Breizh Cafe for lunch - a favorite stop for a lunch crepe. Very casual, there are many around the city.
* Walk and shop in Le Marais. Hotspot for vintage stores and other cute boutiques (Maison Labiche does really fun custom embroidery).
* Drinks at Cravan
* Night one dinner at Aux Pres - French meets Japanese, great cocktails, and a delish menu that has something for everyone.
Day 2:
* Begin your morning at a nearby cafe or indulge in a luxe room service breakfast spread
* Louise carmen boutique - personalize your journal, passport carrier, etc with engravings and charms here - this journal is one of my (volpi’s) must-haves on the road
* Lunch at Loulou - a touristy but picturesque and completely worth it meal
* Fuel up for museum-ing with a matcha at Lancaster le Cafe (next door to Loulou) or Cafe Nuances (also nearby)
* We’d head to Le Louvre/Musee d’Orsay for proximity or Foundation Louis Vuitton for the architecture and adventure
* Dinner at La Renommée - sister restaurant to our NY-fav 4 Charles. Cannot go wrong here if you can get in! Their downstairs lounge has such a great vibe.
* Post dinner, head for drinks at Hotel Costes
Day 3:
* Knowing I’m headed out today, I’d stop first at Saint Pearl an adorable, tiny cafe with great fresh juices and matcha a few blocks from Le Bon Marché. They’re very accommodating (for Americans like us with many a request).
* You’ll be in a great area for walking and shopping post-coffee/breakfast. The most important last stop pre-departure is Le Bon Marché. It’s usually hard to put a time limit on this spot so save it for an afternoon when you have no restraints.
Hitting these places alone will make for a pretty ideal couple days. In case you have more time to explore or are curious about other options, we’ve listed more favs below.
The favs list:
Food:
Le voltaire - a classic french bistro, we love coming here for a real Parisian moment. Very old school feel.
Ferdi - tiny and hard to get into but we love this charming spot with quirky decor, known for their cheeseburger and mac&cheese.
Le recamier - when you’re craving a soufflé, this is the place. Dining on the outdoor terrace adds a little something to the experience too.
Le stresa - cozy Italian in Paris sounds counterintuitive but it’s worth it.
Frenchie - seasonal, ever changing tasting menu. It’s one of those meals to remember.
Septime - the highest on our “must try” list.
For shopping:
Alexandre de paris for overpriced hair clips and accessories that always pull an outfit together, the best place to buy a functional souvenir from your trip.
Centre commercial is very well-curated, has a little bit of everything for everyone
Galeries lafayette
The frankie shop
Marc le bihan for sunglasses
Re/done
Paris leaves what feels like infinite opportunity for exploration, so consider this itinerary a working draft!!
We’re excited to share more with you!
