Hi friends —
Happy Friday! I can’t think of any better way to head into the weekend than with a new donut recipe ;). If you’ve never made or had milk bread donuts before, then pleaseee let this be your sign to do so!
These Cinnamon Sugar Milk Bread Donuts are basically my definition of the PERFECT donut. They’re pillowy-soft and fluffy in the middle, with a golden exterior that has just the right amount of chew. The secret to these is the tangzhong added to the dough — it allows the dough to hold more moisture by pre-gelatinizing the flour starches! This texchnique creates an ultra-soft, pillowy, and bouncy texture that prevents the inside from drying out, and keeps the donuts fresh and soft for days instead of hours! Fried until golden and rolled in a classic cinnamon sugar coating that adds a warm, spiced finish — they’re best served warm with a hot cup of coffe and they truly just melt in your mouth.
Simple, classic, beyond satisfying, and will be set apart from any donut you’ve ever had <3.
🍩 The FULL recipe is up on the blog:
With love,
Kiley 🤎
