It’s been two months since I published a new installment, and it will be at least a few more months before I publish another.

The first time I heard somebody recite a land acknowledgment was at a symposium in Edmonton.

In 2019, we were all reading news reports about conflicts in the English department at Williams. In the lessons we drew from the reports, we revealed facets of our characters.

I suspect the college sponsors worthless training programs in leadership, implicit bias, and other subjects.

I never received any training in how to chair a department (unless you count the meeting where Professor James told me, “It’s impossible to fuck up the budget”).

I always tried to be patient with Professor Toni.
