In the past three weeks alone, Russian state media has run more than a dozen articles about FBI Director Kash Patel, his upcoming trip to Moscow, and the FBI’s new partnership with Russian security services, making Patel the Kremlin’s new favorite useful idiot, following the departure of now-former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
The coverage of Patel started immediately after his trip to Moscow was announced on July 20, and has continued since then. While it started as seemingly straight news coverage about the visit, subsequent articles soon attached larger symbolic meanings.
