Hi! I'm Marianne Brown, the owner and creative director at W Design. If we're friends, you've probably heard me say, "I listened to a podcast about..." or "I read about this..." in every conversation we have, and I'm sorry. But I do love a great conversation, preferably over a good meal or on a walk with my favorite people. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite finds lately (and a couple of them are podcast episodes).
We’ve recommended this before but I can’t recommend it enough - the Eadem lip gloss is better than any lip gloss I’ve used. The applicator is a dream. I like a natural lip and I have the Butter Mochi and Sakura Shaved Ice colors and love them both equally.
On my last trip to New York I went into a new-to-me store Los Angeles Apparel and bought more than I care to admit, including this perfect denim shirt. It’s way higher quality than the price and it fits like a dream. I already have 6 denim shirts so I know what I’m talking about - this is one of the best I’ve ever owned. (I’m wearing the S).
#3 Maison Louis Marie Perfume Oil
I love my perfume oil from Maison Louis Marie. It's a clean scent, which can sometimes be really light, but the oil version lasts longer. The scent I have is called No.09 Vallée de Farney.
#4 Los Angeles Apparel Canvas Pant
Another recommendation from Los Angeles Apparel. These unisex pants are thick and structured with a drawstring waist so they have a work-wear look but are comfortable on the waist. A unique find and a current love (I’m wearing size S).
#5 La Reine Kitchen & Car Spray - use this link for 10% off
You know I love La Reine Aromatherapy’s sprays, and the mini size has changed my car life. I spray it all over my car, then use a microfiber cloth to wipe everything down, and my car smells amazing - way better than a car freshener. I highly recommend the Citrus Stone scent.
For your home countertops, my favorite scent is the one we created with La Reine based on one of our favorite Maison Louis Marie candle scents: Classique. I’ve been through three bottles already, so it’s a good thing we keep a supply at work to gift to clients because I can steal a few more for my house. The bonus? These sprays actually clean so well. With a microfiber cloth, my mirrors have never been cleaner. I use them on practically everything - even my computer.
#6 My Favorite White Tee & Matching Cotton Pants
I recently discovered my favorite tee ever. It’s the perfect length and weight. It’s not see through and drapes really great. I have it in every color. I like the L size so it drapes a little more but it’s a generous tee so you can size down if you want it more cropped or fitted.
Pair the tee with these pants and you have a very cute set. The cotton is thick and washes well but they aren’t too heavy to wear all year round. I’m wearing the Off-White color (which is the perfect warm white). These are sold out except for the large (I’m wearing M) but will come back in stock.
#7 OSEA Undaria Cleansing Body Polish
A client gifted me an Osea set, and while I’m already converted to their body oil, I am smitten with their body polish - especially in the summer when I’m peeling from sun exposure. It’s a gentle exfoliant that leaves your skin smooth as butter. ;) So grateful for the thoughtful gift. I have the best clients.
I used Maelove’s Glow Maker and really liked it but got distracted by other products and now I’m back. This time I got their recommended trio and especially love the Moonlight and The Glow Maker serum. I have sensitive skin (don’t we all) and my skin is already feeling and looking better and it’s only been a couple of weeks.
I just got these pants from Koo De Ker, and they are a dream to wear. I got so many compliments on them. They’re lined, which makes them more flattering than others I’ve tried. They run slightly big - I’m wearing a medium, but I probably could have gone with the small. KDK has a lot of great new arrivals that are worth checking out as well.
#10 The Curiosity Shop Podcast
Brene, Adam and Simon are all people I listen and read so a podcast with all three together had so many gems. We listened and discussed it as a family together.
Also this particular part of the podcast episode of Wild Card with Terry Tempest Williams is worth a watch for every woman (and every man who wants to really understand what it feels like to be a strong woman in this world). Such a powerful clip and touched me deeply.
