JD Vance is Project 2025’s Trojan Horse

While Vance’s morals are certainly malleable, he does appear to have a few very scary core beliefs that happen to align with the totalitarian Project 2025. His extensive work with Project 2025 proves that he isn’t simply pandering to this dystopian interest group for political gain. He is one of them--and a committed soldier in their unamerican Holy War.

Vice President JD Vance is often portrayed as an unctuous snake who will say anything to upgrade the title on his business card. This portrayal is mostly accurate, with Vance having multiple well-timed flipflops that have advanced his career. Vance seemingly has more costume changes than a Taylor Swift concert, with his rotating personas designed to give him access to money and power.

In 2016, when Vance wrote his bestselling book, “Hillbilly Elegy”, he posed as a deep thinker who cared about the Appalachian poor, while kowtowing to the sensibilities of liberal readers on the Upper West Side. To the thrill of his progressive fans, in 2016 and 2017, he rightfully called Donald Trump a “total fraud”, “unfit”, “reprehensible”, a “moral disaster”, “cultural heroin” and “America’s Hitler”.

In 2016, Vance tweeted his disapproval when Trump was exposed by Access Hollywood for saying that he could approach women and “Grab em by the pussy”: “Fellow Christians, everyone is watching us when we apologize for this man. Lord help us”

In 2022, when Vance ran for United States Senate as an Ohio Republican, it wasn’t the Lord he beseeched for help. No—instead he reached out to “America’s Hitler” and groveled his way into receiving Trump’s coveted endorsement. Two years later, Vance became Vice President, as well Trump’s ruthless attack dog on social media.

When JD Vance wanted to rake in money, he became a protégé of Peter Thiel, a strange right-wing billionaire, who is also a married gay man. When Vance became a politician, his tolerance for LGBTQ people evaporated. The waffling weasel opposed non-discrimination laws, rejected marriage equality and defended hardcore bigots who smeared LGBTQ people as groomers.

During Vance’s campaign for the Vice Presidency in 2024, he extended his hatemongering to the Haitian community of Springfield, Ohio, who he accused of eating cats and dogs. When called out for lying, Vance justified his disgusting remarks:

“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do,” Sen. Vance said.

When it’s convenient for Vance, he presents himself as a family man who loves his wife Usha, who is of Indian heritage. In July 2024, she was disparaged online by white supremacist “Nazi Nick” Fuentes, who said, “Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid Vivek is going to support white identity?” In response to Fuentes, Vance humiliated his wife and threw her under the bus, in order not to alienate white supremacists in his base.

“Look, I love my wife so much. I love her because she’s who she is,” he told host Megyn Kelly on her show. “Obviously, she’s not a white person, and we’ve been accused, attacked by some white supremacists over that. But I just, I love Usha.”

The attacks escalated in late 2025, with Fuentes calling Vance a “race traitor.” The Vice President, left with no choice, finally defended poor Usha, saying that Fuentes “can eat shit.”

Not surprisingly, Vance also betrayed his wife by not defending her when members of his Party attacked her for being Hindu. Instead of standing firm, Vance pandered to the haters, explaining that he hoped Usha would convert to Catholicism. While taking questions at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, Vance said:

“Do I hope that eventually she is somehow moved by what I was moved by in church? Yeah, honestly, I do wish that, because I believe in the Christian Gospel, and I hope eventually my wife comes to see it the same way.”

This week, the slippery Vance reversed himself on President Richard Nixon’s crimes. Yet, when Vance disparaged Trump in 2016, he also revealed his feelings about Tricky Dick. In a private message to an associate on Facebook, he declared.

“I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical asshole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler.”

During a Thursday speech at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, Vance refrained from calling Nixon a “cynical asshole”, and instead portrayed him as a victim:

“If Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be a 12-hour news story. The idea that it would have taken down a presidency is crazy…the deep state took down Richard Nixon.”

While the shape-shifting Vance may appear to have no core beliefs, his statement on Nixon reveals that he is deeply enmeshed with the fanatics at Project 2025, a right-wing scheme, embraced by President Trump, to undermine democracy and replace it with a Christian Nationalist autocracy.

Truth Wins Out found that Vance has direct links to many Project 2025 advisory board organizations, including: Intercollegiate Studies Institute, Claremont Institute, Forge Leadership Network, American Moment, the Heritage Foundation, Institute for Women’s Health, and Turning Point USA. He’s particularly invested in American Moment where he sits on its Emeritus Board.

On January 23, 2026, JD Vance gave a combative speech promoting the Institute for Women’s Health, during a March for Life rally in Washington, DC:

“It’s not our job as the United States of America to promote radical gender ideology. It’s our job to promote families and human flourishing. That’s why we’ve completely realigned U.S. foreign aid and turned off the tap for NGO’s whose sole purpose is to dissuade people from having kids.

It’s why we rejoined the Geneva Consensus Declaration, to promote maternal health and strong families all over the world. This is something we are so proud of. We are returning accountability to our foreign policy as well. Under Joe Biden, It was the policy of the United States to export abortion and radical gender ideology all around the world.

That is what they did with your tax money. They would relentlessly bully developing countries into parroting their far-left views. But under President Trump’s leadership and with our great Secretary of State, we believe that every country in the world has the duty to protect life.”

Back to Vance’s comments on Nixon—it is clear that the Vice President’s views on this topic were shaped by a Project 2025 public relations campaign to revive Nixon’s image. Vance was simply parroting the propaganda of his Project 2025 masters.

On February 12, 2026, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) published two articles declaring that Nixon has been “vindicated” for his crimes. The first is headlined “New Proof the Deep State Sabotaged Nixon”. The second article was titled, “Unpacking the Watergate Myth.” In the second piece, ISI discuses an article written by a second Vance-linked Project 2025 organization, The Claremont Institute:

In an essay for the Claremont Review of Books, Nathan Pinkoski challenges this narrative, calling it “the great cover-up of the last decades of the 20th century.” The real story of the Nixon presidency, Pinkoski argues, is that of a president trying—and ultimately failing—to rein in the subversive activities of his own military and intelligence agencies. In the end, Pinkoski concludes that the real Watergate scandal is the refusal to recognize and confront the workings of the deep state, as Nixon sought and failed to do.

ISI also interviewed failed GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, posting two videos on X, February 12 and February 13, 2026, where Ramaswamy peddled the Nixon/Deep State conspiracy. In the Feb. 13 interview, Ramaswamy explained:

“Even if you think about Watergate, there is a lot more to the story than meets the eye. He [Nixon] says he’s going after the Deep State. He doesn’t quite do it. In fact, they use him to expand much of the Deep State. But if he’s saying it enough and he’s not actually doing it, it made him a bit of a sitting duck for exploitation.

And I think the lesson for today is we can’t just talk about gutting the bureaucracy or draining the swamp. You got to go in and do it. And, if not, you’re in some ways the worst position of all. You’ve put the enemy, that machine on notice, that you might have some risk for the machine, when the machine just crushes you, like they have to the citizens of this country for a long time.”

Additionally, Vance is connected to ISI through his mutual “friend” and political guru Curtis Yarvin, a fringe extremist with white nationalist views. Yarvin originally published an influential online blog under the name “Mencius Moldbug”, once writing, “I am not a white nationalist, but I do read white-nationalist blogs, and I’m not afraid to link to them…I am not exactly allergic to the stuff”.

ISI featured Yarvin in an eyebrow raising video discussion, which was part of the group’s controversial Project Cosmos. Among the questions the ISI video covers: “Should Americans embrace Caesarism?” In the shocking video, Yarvin aggressively called for a total reordering of American society that relied, “on the state and state power.” According to Yarvin:

“Your relationship with the state is intermediated through your church and basically your minister can drug test you. He can assign you work. He can put an air tag on you. He can tell you where to go, where not to go.”

Vance and ISI are also connected through conservative writer Rod Dreher, who said of the VP, “That man is the future of America.” Dreher, ISI, and Vance have a shared admiration for former Hungarian autocrat Viktor Orbán. Dreher moved to Budapest in 2022 to work closely with Danube Institute, a state-backed think tank that had been a vehicle for disseminating Orbán’s authoritarian propaganda.

With the next presidential campaign poised to heat up in 2027, voters should strongly beware of JD Vance. While he is certainly a shifty worm, he is also a radicalized religious fanatic and Project 2025’s Trojan Horse to dismantle democracy.
